Ok so I’ve been stalker level obsessed with these books since I picked up The Wrong Pucking Number. So I naturally one clicked it the moment it was released, then I got a killer migraine and couldn’t read it so I grabbed the audio and couldn’t have been happier.
The voices were good, as an Aussie sometimes they can hit weirdly but whoever did Matty’s will be living rent free in my head saying pretty baby for days. Ophelia’s narrator was great too but (and this is such a me thing) she audibly inhaled after 70% of the sentences. And as much as that kind of annoyed me I could live with it because she also made me feel Ophelia.
Honestly, I didn’t expect the feels I got from this book. With the way these guys are all so stalker obsessed I figured Ophelia’s stalker tendencies would be welcomed. I didn’t expect them to be all that they were. And so I loved her so much for that. But Matty’s reaction to it was classic No Drama Llama.
Despite all the feels this still had so many laugh out loud moments. Ophelia and Matty together were hot af and everything we’ve come to expect from the crew. And the little teaser at the end for the next book has me anxiously awaiting that one almost as much as I’m anticipating Jaggers. I did miss my Disney cameo’s but you can’t have everything.
This book
has given me a very upsetting realisation of just how lacking my stalker skills
are. I was looking for something to read last weekend when I thought I'd see
what was recommended to read after The Pucking Wrong number and to see when the
next book in that series was coming out. Then I thought I'd see what else the
author might have for me to read, when I saw this was releasing at the end of
the week. Cue the longest week of waiting. Luckily for me Jase's book is next
in this series, and I think he's going to have some good ideas I can steal to
up my stalking game. 🤞
Anyway,
while I was not so patiently waiting for this to release, I checked out the
blurb and realised that Parker is Disney's baby brother. And I was really
hoping that he was going to turn to big brother for some hint on how to win
over Casey. And maybe we would get some cameos and some pearls of wisdom from
the circle.
Parker and
Casey were both awesome characters with their share of grief weighing them
down. They had awesome chemistry, and I couldn't get enough of them. But for
the first half of the book Parker wasn't quite psycho enough for my
expectations. He had moments and I was expecting a few different twists and
turns to the dark side that didn't come. But he started to get a little more
dubious in the second half so I ended on a high.
Although
that said I had withdrawals every time I had to put the book down. And
now that we have to wait so long for the next books in both of these series
that I'm currently obsessed with I really am going to have to dive into the
back catalogue and see if I can find some new psychos to add to my book
boyfriend list.
This series
is complete catnip for me. I don't know how to even explain how it hits every
one of my reading kinks before I even realise I have them. And each book is so different,
but all of these guys are so completely the same slightly unhinged perfection.
Camden was a
little less full on in the psycho department, but then it worked for a guy with
nick names of hero and grandpappy. He still had the instant lightning bolt
obsession and the completely over the top jealousy and possessiveness I would
expect from a circle of trust member.
Anastasia
made me so glad that she had Camden to slay all her dragons. Because if ever
there was a character who needed a hero, she was it. Everything about her story
broke my heart. And seeing her fight and struggle and work so hard I couldn't
help but admire her. But I admired her even more when she finally realised she
wasn't fighting alone and let Camden help her shoulder the weight.
Now the only
downside to having read this is the fact we have to wait to get Logan's
book.

Blurb
Walker Davis is going to ruin me...but for once, it
might be worth it.
I'm a pariah, an outcast, and my life is not my own.
I went to that hockey game hoping for an escape and
found one in him.
They call Walker Davis "Disney" for a
reason, because the superstar goalie is the "Prince Charming" of
every girl's dreams.
He told me he understood I just wanted one perfect
night...
But now he's everywhere I go.
He seems to know everything about me.
He keeps saying I'm the one.
And he's trying to change my last name.
He's crazy...
A wrong date can never be a happily ever after
though...right?
*Note: Walker Davis is a morally grey antihero who is
obsessed with his girl and will do anything to keep her. This is a darker
hockey romance.
The Pucking Wrong Date is a hockey romance standalone
from USA Today and International Bestselling Author C.R. Jane.

I
feel like I need to preface this by saying dark romance, not really my thing.
But obsessive, jealous, slightly unhinged alphas are completely my thing. And
that is what this series is all about because these guys don't just own all the
red flags, they fly them with pride.
I
stumbled on this series after finding one of them in a list of books while
looking for something to read and I'm officially obsessed. I can honestly say
that I personally don't think they are dark. A little twisted, yes but I laugh
so much at the antics of these guys. And really who doesn't want someone that
is completely in love and devoted to you? Even when they are acting highly
unhinged.
Walker
seemed like a complete golden retriever type when we met him in Ari's book. And
his fangirling over Linc was so totally adorbs I didn't know how he was going
to get into the circle of trust. But he really proved himself. Not just with
all his kinks, his handcuffs, and his craziness but he really went all out on
the dick decorations. Lol
Olivia
was a new introduction, and can we just say she was done beautifully. I cried
for her, I cheered Walker on with his hammering and I really liked everything
about her. She was perfect for Disney and fits in beautifully with the other
ladies. But it was still all Walker for me. The lengths he went to while
simping over Linc and uncovering his own new kinks had me giggling and gasping
and almost as obsessed as he was.
I
can't wait for the next book. And I seriously need to find time to do some Jeff
level stalking of our amazing authors back catalogue. Because I think she might
be my new one click dealer.
