I
have a heap of these books on my TBR because they all sound right up my alley,
but when I went to kindle to read one, I discovered that they are all actually
part of a series so now I’m trying to read them in order. Which is helped
greatly by the fact they are on KU and the audible add on is only $3 so I can
read them, and adult and feel like I got a bargain.
Ellie
and Simon were probably some of the best brothers’ best friend characters I’ve
read recently. Obviously, they were hiding their relationship from Ellie’s
brother but for once there were kind of legitimate reasons for it. Plus, they
both didn’t really want to hide their relationship and felt guilty for sneaking
around. Which was a nice change from the usual sneaking around for no real
reason.
Simon
had the whole quiet brooding thing down and I thought he would continue in that
vein, but he was an awesome boyfriend. He was so open and communicated
perfectly and he wasn’t at all what I was expecting from him. Ellie had a few
moments where she acted like a selfish, immature idiot and she really needed to
grow a spine. But since we had an idea of the why and she didn’t stick to her
stupid when it was pointed out to her, she was easy to like.
I
am so glad that Cal pulled his head out of his you know where, especially after
seeing the teaser for his book at the end of this. I can’t wait to continue
this series.

It
has taken me way too long to finish this book and I hate how much I feel like I
was distracted from it by real life dramas. Because when I finally got the
chance to lock myself away and stay up way too late to read the last 50% of it,
I was obsessed. But that first 50% was so interrupted and distracted by
everything that I didn't get to connect with it. And it was entirely on me.
Anyway,
I finally got my ducks in a line and sat down and got lost in the story and
geez did I enjoy it. Grace and Jaxson together were so hot. They felt like two
magnets being pulled together while everything was getting in the way and
holding them apart. But when they did collide it was just so freaking hot. And
around some very dirty talking and awesome adult fun there were some very real
and intense emotions.
This
book literally had all the feels. I felt like I went on a road trip with some
friends and saw a whole new layer of them. And I loved the fact that they
communicated so beautifully without holding back on the hard things. There were
no misunderstandings, and no one was left wondering what anyone else was
feeling or thinking, it was just all laid out between them. And even though
there was a lot of outside things that they needed to navigate the drama was
all external.
It's
no secret I love the writing style of Kandi Steiner and I'm a huge fan of
her previous books, but this series has been great. I really can't wait to get
my hands on Daddy P's book next. I just hate that I have to wait for it to be
written first. And a side note. I'm absolutely in heaven with the light kink
that is being sprinkled through the series. It feels natural and organic and
just adds to the overall hotness without feeling forced or unnaturally
scripted.
My whirlwind romance would begin once I was ready to take the plunge.
Spoiler alert—every failed first date on record suggests otherwise.
Just when I’m beginning to fault my lofty standards, Garrett Foster saunters onto the scene.
The football star turned bar owner is quick to volunteer his services.
He vows to deliver the best version of Mr. Right—just to prove first impressions deserve a second glance.
I’d question these seemingly selfless intentions if Garrett’s reputation didn’t answer for itself.
Shameless flirting aside, it’s well-known that the established bachelor doesn’t plan to settle down. Ever.
He treats commitment like a bad habit he kicked in college.
That makes him a very eligible sidekick.
