Ava Diaz needs saving.

She just doesn’t know it yet.

Just like she doesn’t know a thing about the boy she sits next to on the first day of senior year.

He thinks she’s a brat.

She thinks he’s entitled.

Maybe first impressions don’t always last…

Because Connor Ledger’s about to save her.

He just doesn’t know why.

BLURB
There are no more goodnight kisses.

No knocks on windows.

No lengthy text messages.

No late-night phone calls.

And no game day balloons.
There’s just Connor.

And Ava.

Existing in a world filled with nothing but heartache.

While searching the darkness for glimmers of hope.

Because with hope, comes magic.

And magic is forever.

Hollis Taylor is allowed to break the rules. She’s coach’s little girl. And she’s good. If that means she gets to bump one of the guys for the starting catcher’s job on the Public High baseball team, then the others on the squad better suck it up and deal.

But breaking rules has taken Cannon Jennings far in life. One of the nation’s top pitching prospects, he came here to throw to his cousin and show college recruiters everything he could do on the mound. Taking his signs from a girl was not part of his blueprint, especially one that screwed over his favorite relative and best friend.

Too bad he broke the biggest rule of all before he knew exactly who she was.

It was just a New Year’s kiss. Totally forgettable. Especially under the circumstances.

So why can’t he stop thinking about it?

This is book 3 in The Varsity Series by Ginger Scott. You can start this series of stand-alone mature YA sports romances now with Varsity Heartbreaker and Varsity Tiebreaker.

Excerpt

Cannon twists in his seat, letting go of my hand for a moment while his gaze drifts off into the place where the pavement meets the horizon.

“You deserve to play, Hollis—no. You deserve to start.” He’s so resolute in his words, his mouth closed tight to punctuate the finality of them while he shakes his head. His eyes haze and it’s almost as if he’s playing out an argument with someone else in his head, preparing to defend me.

Before I can talk myself out of it, I lean over the console and press my lips to his cheek, holding his jaw with my hand. His head moves in slow motion, turning to face me, his mouth opening with a faint breath. Our eyes meet briefly, his falling lashes my only clue that his close just before mine. His hand palms my cheek just as his mouth captures my bottom lip, and in a single heartbeat, we’re kissing.

Nothing about the moment is rushed, and every pass of his lips against mine is tender and sweet. Light tastes of my tongue with his are tempered by measured suckles of my top and bottom lips. He takes his time, shifting enough in his seat to steady my head in both of his hands. The way he holds me makes me feel cherished, and this is now one more thing that’s going on my list of things to really, truly adore about Cannon Jennings.

She was always the one.

Or so I thought.

Turns out my instincts were dead wrong.

Years ago I was faced with the choice between two women. Both were perfect in opposite ways. One was carefree and against commitment. The other was a woman you’d bring home to mom.

I was young, naïve and stupid. I’m sure you can guess who I chose.

Now, I’m older, wiser and know what the hell I want.

So, when the same two women pop back into my life it’s my chance for a do-over. But they flipped the script. Just like me, they want different things now. Leaving me with one choice—convince the woman I want that she wants me too.

Title: Sunsets and Somedays
Author: S.L. Sterling
Series: 425 Madison Ave

About Sunsets and Somedays
Ben
I know why I lost her. I was too serious. I was too practical. I was grounded when I should’ve been dreaming about forever with Jess.

Over time, this wore on her, all her big exciting ideas and all the ways I shut them down. No wonder she handed me my ring back and left town. No wonder she hadn’t been back in ten years. No wonder she’d married someone else, leaving me with memories of sunsets at the beach and the somedays we planned for the future we’d never live.

So, I built a lift without her. My father and I opened the second division of Sunset Builders in New York, and to my surprise, I stayed busy, almost busy enough not to notice the loneliness.

While I was on a job site, my little sister booked an appointment with a woman who lived on Madison Avenue. A quick bathroom and kitchen remodel, she’d said. I should have asked more questions because when I arrived and the door opened memories came flooding back.

Jessica had returned. If I’d learned anything in her absence it was that anything worth doing was worth being done well, and anything worth having was worth fighting for. Maybe by the time the condo was done, Jessica would give me a second chance.

Jessica
All those years ago, Ben had been right to try to keep me grounded. I should’ve listened. The falls didn’t hurt as bad that way.

Instead, I wanted a bigger life in a bigger place and I never appreciated the beauty of living in a small town with a huge support system. So, I left town without so much as a goodbye chasing a silly dream. I alienated myself, moved to a strange city where I knew no one, and chased after something that took me down a dark path.

I married the man who promised me the sun, moon, and stars, but delivered blinding blows. Sometimes, I thought I’d die before I escaped the nightmare. I knew my only way out would be to run...again. This took more years than I could count. Years of me squirreling away money, and years of me hiding in the dark so that no one would see my bruised face in the light of day.

Then my grandfather died. He left me money and a gorgeous condo in New York. While my husband was away on a month-long trip, my best friend drove me to New York. My plan: to upgrade the condo, sell it, and leave my current life behind.

Little did I know when I had called contractors to get some quotes that Ben would show up on my doorstep. He swore we could make more dreams real, but this time I was the grounded one. This time, I could only see how it would never work. I’d made too many mistakes. Love was terrifying. And I never wanted to tie myself to anyone ever again.

After all, 425 Madison is the perfect place to fall in love.

Excerpt
My stomach flipped as I stared at the ring that sat in the palm of my hand, memories flooding back to me. I dropped down to my knees, unpinning the object from the jeans, still studying it. I couldn't believe that he had been carrying this ring around with him all these years. I glanced over to Ben and back to the ring in my hand and almost instantly I felt my stomach start to roll. Did he still love me?
"What are you sitting like that for? Did you lose something?" a groggy sleep-filled voice asked.
I could barely tear my eyes away from the ring I held in my hand, but I did, and I was faced with Ben. A boy I had once loved who now had turned into a man. The second our eyes met, I could tell from the look in his eyes that he still had feelings for me. I doubted that they had ever left.
"What is this?"
"What?" he asked, rolling over onto his back and placing his hands behind his head.
"This?" I demanded, holding the ring between my fingers and shoving it into his face.
He swallowed hard, a hesitant look all over his face. Our eyes met, and I knew I was never supposed to have found it. He swallowed hard, his face going red. "Where did you find that?"
"Where did I find it? Are you serious? It was tied to a string, pinned into your pants pocket!" I bit out. "Were you planning on getting down on one knee this morning? Planning to confess your love for me?"
"Jess, calm down," Ben said, throwing the covers off his naked body and reaching for his jeans that lay on the floor where I'd left them.
"Don't tell me to calm down, Ben. What the hell are you still doing with this? You think things have changed suddenly? That I am going to run back to you with open arms?"
"I don't think that at all," he said, slipping into his jeans and looking around the room for his shirt.
"Then why do you still have it?"
He stood staring at me, looking from me to the ring and back again. It was almost as if the words were caught in his throat. He wanted me back, and he had taken this opportunity, a moment of weakness, to sneak in and pray upon me. A moment where my life had been turned upside down to take advantage.
"Jess, I...."
I glanced at him. I could see the struggle in his mind and on his lips.
"Look, nothing has changed. I have plans, Ben, and they don't include running off into the sunset with you. It doesn't involve me staying here with you."
"Jess, that wasn't my intention. What happened—"
I held out my hand. I didn't want to hear anymore of his excuses. "I do have a life, Ben. I have plans. My friend, Kate, has a job lined up for me once I return to LA. So, as soon as this project is finished, this place will be on the market and I will be gone."
"So once again, you are going to run, just like last time."
"This isn't like the last time."
"Sure it is. Look what happened all those years ago—a stupid idea of a wild promise and you took off. You are making the same mistake all over again. Just like last time, you are still the one dying to leave."

Every book C.P. Smith has written I have loved. There is something about the way she captures the characters and makes me invested in them from the first page. Add in the suspense and drama of the story and I can't put her books down.

This book, however, I think is my favourite of hers. And I am praying it's going to be a series because almost everyone of the secondary characters deserves their own story. There wasn't a single thing about this book that didn't work for me.

Skylar and Logan are right up there as one of my all time favourite couples. I loved their instant connection and I felt their soul deep love. Skylar was so strong and working so hard to keep it all together that she didn't take a breath and look up to see just how much love and support she had. But Logan stole my heart with how fiercely he loved her.

Everything about Logan made him the amazing character he was. He had walked through fire to get to his slice of heaven and no one deserved it more. The fact he walked so perfectly into not just Skylar's life and heart but that of the whole town was beautiful to watch.

I really am hoping to see all of these amazing people get their own happily ever after. Especially after being teased with all their connections through out this book. And I would really love to see Josh and Jake get their future dreams. Who am I kidding? I want it all now please.

I could love the monster or leave the man.

Out of Love by Jewel E. Ann is now live!

Conspiracies. Corruption. Serial killers.

You name it--I'm fascinated by it. My mom always blamed my overly curious and highly suspicious mind on my dad.

My incredibly overbearing dad.

Mr. No One Is Good Enough For My Daughter has been terrifying my dates since I turned fifteen.

College is my chance to be free from his control and date any guy I want.

I'm absolutely certain he would hate Slade Wylder--almost as certain as I am that I do too.

Since when have I shied away from trouble?

Slade fascinates me. He lives in a house I'm certain is haunted. His dog is trained as well as any guard I've ever seen. Rumor on campus is that he deals drugs. It would explain a lot.

But it doesn't explain why he saves me from my darkest moment.

It doesn't explain why I can't stop thinking about him.

And the explanation I finally discover is far more dangerous than any rumor.

What’s a girl to do when all the authors she likes are raving madly about Homecoming King? Head over to kindle and grab it of course. And I am so glad that I did, it was on KU so there was the first win. The second win was that it was about Tiger Lyons and Cash King, seriously their names alone were enough to have me smirking. Although to be honest I didn’t find anything but the names funny, this had a lot more feels than I was expecting and I was pretty quickly invested in each of these characters.

Tiger was the embodiment of what I want my daughters to be. She was born into a family of privilege and expectations with beauty queen looks and soon realised that she wanted to be seen as more than just a pretty face so she worked her arse off to be better. She had such strength of character and determination to be seen for more than her pretty face and I loved her so much.

Cash wasn’t too bad himself. But he was so caught up in the world that he had fought tooth and nail to get to that he couldn’t see that he was more than just that. Which I could understand, he had worked so hard to achieve some really impressive goals, it’s kind of natural not to see past the next step in that plan. But he worked just as hard to make sure he made up his mistakes to Tiger and to be an amazing boyfriend. Because he gave some seriously good boyfriend.

These two were super cute together and the chemistry was pretty steamy too. I found myself pretty interested in not just them but the people around them and the things they were working on and I didn’t want to put the book down. I loved the epilogue and the conclusion of the story was sweet but I would have loved to see her ex get hit by a dumpster or something and maybe a little further in the future to some babies and weddings and such but that’s just me wanting more and not anything the book was lacking.

I’m so glad I fell for the peer pressure and grabbed this from KU and I’m off to add the next one to my TBR now :)

I have a confession. I hate rock star romances. I avoid them more often than not. So when I saw this book and jumped to read it I had no idea it was about a band. All I knew was it was a collaboration between two of my favourite authors and I had to have it. Then I read the blurb and got nervous.

I should have known better. If anyone could make me love something it's Sarina Bowen. Luckily for me she isn't running a cult or I'd be there with my head shaved ready to go. As it stands I am so glad I committed to these before I knew the genre because I couldn't put it down.

Surprise baby had me so excited but the rock star thing had me worried. But Jonas was awesome. I fell in love with him on every page. He loved Kira so completely and he showed it at every opportunity. He had me picturing John Legend and the adoring way he loves his wife. Which made me smile through the whole book.

Kira was a surprise for me. I didn't expect to like her, I expected her to be completely different. Instead she was just a sweet young girl who fell in love and lost him. But she didn't hold a grudge or be a doormat or let her guilt in the way things played out make her make stupid decisions. She just was understanding and mature and perfect.

I really can't wait to get my hands on the next two books because I'm over my rock star aversion and dying to see where these ladies are going to take these characters.
