Title: The Other Brother
Author: Hazel Kelly
Genre: Contemporary Romance

About The Other Brother:

College dropout Piper has been down on her luck for years, and she’s beginning to doubt whether she'll ever achieve her dream of becoming a professional chef.

So when a handsome stranger who's frostier than frozen food offers her a job that seems too good to be true, she's in no position to ask questions. Yet the longer she works for him, the more she has.

Unfortunately, her billionaire boss is determined to keep Piper in the dark, especially about his past. But little does she know, her warm presence is making him think about his future for the first time in years, a future he increasingly hopes she'll be a part of.

Can New York's beastliest bachelor open his heart to the beautiful young woman he saved on a hunch? Or will his demons drive her away before he finds the courage to admit his feelings?

**This standalone, modern-day fairytale will make you smile and swoon all the way to the happiest ending you’ll read this year.

The hint of a smile drew his lips to one side, and his face came so close I thought he might kiss me again. “I need to be with someone I can trust, Piper. Someone who trusts me.”

“I trust you,” I whispered.

“Yet you play games.”

My breath shallowed. “It doesn’t feel like I’m playing.”

“Good,” he said. “Because I am not a cat, and you are not a mouse.”

“What is this then?” I asked, my heart hammering in my chest. “Because I’m not your guest either. So what am I? Your dirty little secret? Do you sleep with all your personal employees or-?”

“Are you questioning my professionalism?”

“No,” I lied. “I just want to know what your intentions were last night.”

“Simple.” He locked his eyes on mine. “To make you earn all those baths you’ve been taking.”

I swallowed. “You think I’m taking too many baths?”

“I don’t know. I don’t know how dirty you are.”

He stepped forward, pinning me against the counter with his hips so I could feel his hard length against my stomach as it swelled in his track pants.

I leaned back, letting his eyes sweep over my face like we were a couple on the cover of an old romance novel, and by the time his gaze settled on my lips, they were parted and ready for him.

“Don’t ever play games with me again,” he said, his hard-on still burning against my belly. Then he stepped back, retrieved his espresso from the machine, and walked away.

“Wait,” I said, glancing over my shoulder at the breakfast I’d made. “Aren’t you hungry?”

“Yes,” he said without turning around. “But not for eggs.”

My chest finally relaxed when he disappeared down the hall, but a gentle smile tugged at my lips when I realized he wanted me back, wanted me still. Wanted me bad.

About Rules of A Rebound

Natalie Winters thought she’d married the man of her dreams…but her marriage ended way too soon in a nightmarish divorce. She even has to share custody of the dog! The stress is killing her, so she decides to take a night off and attend the Breakup Bash—a private party for women celebrating their breakups—with her friends.

Former executive security specialist turned bartender Rome Collier is drawn to the woman easily trading sexy banter with him. And if she wants the “Do Me” condoms she accidentally throws across the counter at him, she’ll have to claim them…personally. Their flirtation turns into so much more, and every scintillating night they spend together is better than the last.

Strong, protective...and hot, Rome is everything Natalie ever wanted in a man. All she has to do is convince him he’s more than a rebound.

Exclusive Excerpt
Mortification kept Natalie’s gaze on the string of four condom packages lying on the counter between her and Rome. The printed words “Do Me” glittered and flashed on them like neon signs, mocking her clumsiness.

Heat flamed in her cheeks. “Oops. That was an accident.” She’d just meant to take out cash to pay for her drink.

But the amusement in Rome’s golden-brown eyes expressed exactly what he thought. Yeah, right, the condoms just magically flew out of your purse.

More heat surged into Natalie’s face. But they really had. Determined to salvage some of her pride in failing the flirting game, she made a grab for the condoms, but he did, too. As he slid them from the counter, his fingers brushed hers. A rush like the kind that came from heady, high-proof alcohol almost threw her off-balance.

“Uh-uh.” He grinned, and a slight dimple sunk in below a semi-circle shaped scar on his right cheek. “I’m not giving these up. They’re the best tip I’ve gotten all night.”

“They’re not your tip.”

“Could have fooled me.” He stuffed them into the front pocket of his jeans.

Her gaze riveted on the slight bulge to the left of his zipper. “They’re my property.”

“Looks like they’re mine now.”

Mine. His husky possessive tone conjured up images of him pinning her up against the wall as he made good use of one of the “Do Me” condoms, doing her.

“Excuse me,” a woman farther down called out. “Can we get some service? The show’s about to start.”

Rome’s attention remained on Natalie. “Hold on. I’ll be back.”

She held out the money. “But I need to pay.”

“You will.” Rome’s mouth lifted with a faint lopsided smile before he turned away.

His self-assuredness made Natalie’s heart flutter. She was all into compensating for whatever transgressions he accused her of. Was it wrong for her to strip off her clothes, lay on the bar, and give herself to him as payment? Yeah, it was definitely inappropriate, no matter how much the thought of doing it turned her on.

The woman Rome served at the bar smiled coyly up at him and brushed her fingers over his forearm.

As his deep chuckle floated over the woman’s laughter, Natalie suppressed an eye roll. And a tinge of envy. Obviously, she wasn’t the only one willing to be his sexual sacrifice. So what? Like she cared if some bottle-blonde flirted with him. Technically, she’d caught his attention first. Yes, things had gotten a little messy in the process, but she’d still landed him. Experiment over. Time to go. Cori and Alexa were probably wondering where she’d run off to.

As she went to put her money down and leave, Rome opened a mini fridge and grabbed a bottle of champagne. He stripped off the foil covering, deftly loosened the wire cage, then draped a towel over the bottle. As he pointed it away from the crowd, he twisted the bottom of it, and a muffled pop reverberated. Rome glanced over at her and winked.

Seriously. Did he think opening that bottle would impress her? But as much as she tried, she couldn’t stop a laugh or tear her gaze away from him as he served champagne to customers at the bar.

Natalie put her purse on the counter. Staying until he came back to her was purely about principle. No way in hell was she leaving her party favors behind so he could use them on some other woman later on. He had her “Do Me” condoms, and she wanted them back.

Minutes later, Rome returned to her with a cocktail glass filled with ice, amber liquid, and topped with a maraschino cherry. He set it in front of her.

“Sorry. I’m all out of condoms to pay for my drinks.”

He nudged the glass closer. “This one’s on the house. Try it. I think you’ll like it.”

She would, huh? No one read her that easily, but he had made the effort. Natalie took a drink, and the bite of alcohol mingled nicely with a hint of sweet. “Not bad. What’s it called?”

“A Do Me Slowly.”

The low tone of his voice made her tingle. “If this is some kind of ploy to change my mind about getting my condoms back, it won’t work. I have plans for using them.”

Lust sparked in Rome’s eyes, mesmerizing her to the point where she failed to realize his mouth was suddenly just inches away.

“So, you still think they’re yours?” As he leaned in farther, his hair-roughened cheek brushed hers, and her knees grew weak. “That’s definitely something we need to talk about.”

We’re a couple of minutes away from my apartment, which also means we’re almost at the end of our date. End-of-date protocol often means a goodnight kiss.

And I’ve eaten onions. Lots of them. What the hell was I thinking? I feel around in my shorts pocket, hoping I have a random stick of gum. I find a tiny square packet and pull it out, along with an old tissue. I shove that back in my pocket and sigh with relief as I carefully open the Listerine Pocketpak. There’s one strip left. I pop it in my mouth, wishing I had water since my mouth is dry and I’m suddenly super nervous.

Griffin pulls up in front of my apartment building. I swallow a bunch of times, trying to get the strip to dissolve on my tongue and glance out the tinted window, seeing it from his perspective. I don’t live in a bad part of town, but I sure as hell wouldn’t leave this car sitting out here for any length of time unless I wanted it keyed or stripped down.

Griffin shifts into park and turns to me, one hand resting on the back of my seat near the headrest. “I had a great time, Cosy.”

“Me too, thanks for dinner.” I tried to fork over my share, but he was quick on the credit card draw.

“It was my pleasure.” He leans in the tiniest bit, a nonverbal cue that he’s going in for a kiss.

I mirror the movement, giving him the go ahead. My stomach flutters in anticipation. I exhale slowly through my nose. Even though the Listerine strip should be doing its job to mask the onions, I don’t want to ruin the moment by breathing that in his face.

His fingertips skim my jaw, and I close my eyes. And then his lips brush my cheek. I wait for them to move a couple of inches to the right, but after what feels like a lot of seconds—and is probably only a few—I crack a lid.

Griffin is still close, a wry smile on his lips and a smolder in his eyes.

“Seriously, that’s it? A kiss on the cheek?”

His smile widens, making his eyes crinkle at the corners. He’s nothing like the guys I usually end up on dates with. College boys don’t take things slow. If I were out with one of the guys from school, I’d be sitting in a beat-up Civic with some stupid music playing, and he’d be all over me with his tongue halfway down my throat, copping a feel.

“I thought all the onions you ate were the equivalent to garlic for vampires.” Griffin fingers my hair near my shoulder. I’d really like him to finger something else. Wait. I mean I’d like to feel his hands on me. Not in my pants. Okay, maybe I’d like them in my pants, but not after date number one.

“I wasn’t thinking, and I really like onions. A lot. In hindsight, it’s not a great date food. I feel kinda dumb. And I guess at first I wasn’t so sure about you. How was I supposed to know you’d actually be kind of normalish?”

“Well, you drink club soda on purpose, so you can’t be all there.” I tap his temple.

Griffin circles my wrist with his fingers and drops his head, lips brushing over my knuckle. “We can’t all be perfect, now, can we?”

“I suppose not, and perfect is boring.”

“That it is.” He hums against my skin, and I feel it through my entire body. “I would like to try that kiss again, if you’re still interested.”

When I meet Joel Matthews, I’m in an unexpected place in life.
I mean who expects that after fourteen years of marriage to your high school sweetheart.
Not me.
It hits me while celebrating my birthday with my sisters that I’m thirty-five and single. Shouldn’t I finally date someone other than my ex?
I totally deserve that, right?
After way too many lemon drop shots, I’m tricked into trying on my younger sister considerate gift as she put it. Did I mention it’s a gag gift? A “my milkshakes bring all the boys to my yard” t-shirt and velour sweatpants with “Sin-a-Buns” written across my bottom which she finds all too hilarious.
That’s how Joel finds me, too smashed to open my apartment door and when I do, I take a drunken slip and slid across the floor with my Sin-A -Buns on full display.
Joel doesn’t seem to notice. Then again, I swear I heard a chuckle. But no matter, he’s right there to make sure I’m okay as any knight in shiny armor should do.
Okay, where did that come from? Clearly, I’m not in my right frame of mine.
When I look up into his gorgeous face, I forget all the reasons why it’s a bad idea to hook-up with my twenty-something neighbor. In fact, it’s a fan-freaking-tastic idea.
(Ride that pony, girl? Did I really just think that?)
Until I wake in the morning with a delicious ache between my legs and a pounding headache. I’m mature enough not to regret it, but adult enough to realize it can’t happen again.
First—I’m too old for him. He’s in his twenties for goodness sakes.
Second— I’m single for the first time in years. Like I’ve only ever dated one guy.
Third—Shouldn’t I date multiple men before I find the one? Wasn’t that my first mistake?
Only Joel isn’t giving up.
He’s determined to prove age is just a number—
And I’m his number one.

I picked this up thinking it was going to be a light and fluffy romantic comedy and wanting exactly that for a lazy Saturday arvo. And as I got further in I wasn't disappointed to discover it had as much drama and emotion as humour.

For such a short book I thought there was a little much going on. I had a moment where I was worried about where it was going but I was so invested in Olivia and everything she was going through I kept going. And I really loved the outcome. All the different aspects came together perfectly.

I would have liked to see Olivia's ex husband get hit by a bus but obviously Olivia is a better person than I am. And I am really hoping Joel's brothers are next up for books of their own.

So I think this is one of those times I need to confess that I only preordered this book so I could get Boy In Luv. And I have zero regrets. I read Crew's book and it really felt like it was more an intro to Loveless and the Lawton family. And I went in to Justified with pretty high expectations.

Honestly I think I read it wanting or expecting the story to play out a certain way and I was so far off the mark. And although I was a little disappointed I did enjoy the book I just would have loved it more if I hadn't gone in expecting something else.

I think I would have liked Aspen better if she didn't come across as so desperate for Case's love. I know she crushed on him forever but he was with his ex for most of that time and she was married to someone else. So I felt like she didn't move on from being the smitten teenager.

Case was a different story. He disliked her for the things he believed she had done but he didn't hold onto it once he saw it for what it really was. He could have been a little more alpha for my liking but overall he was a pretty good character.

That all said I am dying for Kody's book. The two guys who have been hinted at in this book both sound like my kinda book crush and I can't wait to see where Jay is going with this one. Either way I am going in with my mind empty and a lot of anticipation.

He’s the arrogant Manhattan realtor with billboards advertising his six-pack more than his expertise in negotiations.

I’m the competing broker who stupidly moved across the hall from his office.

From day one, I’ve been his sworn enemy. Okay, so I might have accidentally stolen one of his clients. Well, is it stealing if the client comes to me?

Even our vicious banter and loathing gazes can’t hide the chemistry between us. Who can blame me? He has enough charisma to make every hot-blooded woman in the city melt with a single word.

Just when I think a mutual respect could be born between us, the biggest developer in the city offers us an opportunity that pits us against each other.

Time to forget Carmelo Mancini’s dreamy eyes and tight abs.

Game on.

My Review

Piper Rayne, or Piper and Rayne, whichever you prefer because we’re not one author, we’re two. Yep, you get two USA Today Bestselling authors for the price of one. Our goal is to bring you romance stories that have "Heartwarming Humor With a Side of Sizzle" ( caught us, that's our tagline). A little about us... We both have kindle’s full of one-clickable books. We're both married to husbands who drive us to drink. We're both chauffeurs to our kids. Most of all, we love hot heroes and quirky heroines that make us laugh, and we hope you do, too.

Where do I even start to review this book?

I guess it all starts with Piper Rayne. If you've read them before you're probably already a fan and if you haven't I can honestly say there isn't any one book to start with. All of their books rock. They have great characters, both leading and secondary and they know how to write romance.

So this is the second book in the White Collar Brothers series and although it can be read as a standalone I loved knowing the story of Annie and Enzo. And I really loved that they were such a part of this story.

Carm was exactly what I expected him to be at the start and I kind of went back and forth on him. I wanted him to fall hard with a bang. And he kind of did but as always I wanted a little more.

Bella was perfect for Carm but I wanted her to get more in general. Her mum sucked and I really wanted her to get her head out of her arse. Luckily for Bella I have no doubt mama Mancini will love her but it sucks we didn't get to see it.

And although I loved the epilogue it has left me obsessed with Dom and I can't wait to get my grabby hands on it. And I love that it looks like we will get a whole lot more of Carm and Enzo.

I'm almost twenty-one, not a teenager anymore, and as it turns out, my agent thinks my girl-next-door image needs to grow up a little, so she sends me on an audition for a new show.

When I find out that I'm auditioning to co-host with the sexy British celebrity chef I've admired for years, I can't believe my luck.

Lucas has had a lot of trouble the past couple of years, though. A nasty divorce. Binge-drinking. Partying. We won't even talk about those pics of his impressive package that were splashed all over the tabloids.

I'm supposed to be the solution to all Lucas' problems. Meeting him, though, is just the start of mine.

When we set off on a European filming tour, sparks fly.

Lucas is definitely bringing the heat.

I just hope I don't get burned.

Exclusive Excerpt
We got to Jerry’s, the Borough Market cafĂ© frequented by most of London’s food scene elite for the early morning shoot. The camera crew had been on-site for hours, getting some atmospheric shots before sunrise. The restaurant had been closed for us, which John had arranged, with only a few local chefs and neighborhood regulars were allowed inside for filming.

We walked into the kitchen to find the crew set up and filming. I sat on an empty counter while the makeup artist tended to my face and hair. Lucas had not acknowledged me when we walked in. Instead, he stood in the back, chat- ting and laughing with his chef buddies while the crew set up for the recipe shots.

When the set was ready, I joined Lucas behind the counter.

“Morning,” he said boisterously. “Good-mornin’,” I retorted coolly.

“Someone got up on the wrong side of the bed this morning,” he said playfully.

I just looked at him without saying another word. He shrugged as if unbothered by my demeanor. He started the recipe, and I tried to be charming on camera as I read my lines, but my sour mood was making me come across as stiff and unnatural.

We took a break, and I walked out through the alley door to stretch my legs and regroup. I put my palms on the back of my hips and paced back and forth. I was facing the street when I heard the restaurant door behind me open and shut. I knew who it was without turning to look.

“What do you want?” I didn’t care if he could tell I was annoyed.

“Whoa, what’s your problem today?” Lucas strode up to me and put his hands on his hips as he faced me.

“What’s my problem? You’re the one with the problem!” I crossed my arms in a huff and turned away from him. He threw his head back, laughing wildly.

“What are you laughin’ at?!” Growing angrier by the second, I spun to face him, hands on my hips, my brow furrowed.

“Georgia, you are absolutely precious, do you know that?” He towered over me and tried to take me by the shoulders, but I shrugged him off.

“Stop it!” I said, “You don’t get to do this!”

“What on earth are you talking about?” I tried to wrig- gle away from him, but he took my shoulders in his big hands and held me fast. His grip was firm, though he wasn’t hurting me.

“Georgia, why are you angry with me?”

“You sent John to get me this mornin’. You didn’t even acknowledge me when I came in.” My eyes were begin- ning to well up in spite of myself. Damn it! I hated, hated, hated it when I couldn’t control my emotions. He put his arms around me and tucked a curl behind my ear.

“And you don’t know why,” he said. I shook my head indicating no, more confused than ever. My bottom lip pouted just a bit as I stared up at him, betraying all my hurt and disappointment. He gave me a look that flashed between concern and attraction.

“Oh, sweet Belle. What am I going to do with you?” He shook his head a little. “You don’t know what you did last night.” I looked into his eyes, not understanding.

“You didn’t know what I was asking you to do when I asked you to come with me after the shoot, but you didn’t even seem to care. You just came because I needed you. You stayed with me, and listened to me…,” he put his hand up to my jaw, running his thumb across my lips, pulling the bottom one down slightly.

Despite my anger, his fingers left a trail of electricity behind them on my skin everywhere he touched me.

“You didn’t want anything in return. You held me as if… well, anyone who was looking on from the outside might have thought you really did… care for me on some level.” He said the last part carefully. He looked at me like he wanted to kiss me and run from me all at the same time.

“So, you’re sayin’ I gave you what you needed, and you – what? You punish me for it? You shut me out? That’s what you do when someone cares for you?” He looked a little surprised at my choice of words. I was trying so hard not to show my hand, but it had to be evident that I was starting to have some sort of feelings for him.

He was gorgeous, of course, and any woman would be attracted to him. This, though, was something more than that. The time we had spent together on set, and when he had taken me to dinner and toured me around the city… little by little, he had shown me another side of himself. It was a side I didn’t know if anyone else saw, and that guy was someone I could definitely fall for.

Lucas put his face down, resting his forehead against mine and stood there for a moment. “I’ve never met any- one who excites and terrifies me so. When we get togeth- er…,” I started to object, and he put his thumb to my lips again, and this time, I didn’t argue. I knew the decision was already made and though the good-girl upbringing in me wanted to fight it, the woman I was becoming wanted to embrace it, and in the end, the woman was far stronger than even I had given her credit for.

Soon enough, it looks like I’ve found him -- his nickname is Lucky Suit, and he’s hilarious, quick-witted and full of heart. But when I finally get together with him in person, I have the distinct feeling I’ve met him before.
Turns out there's more to our meeting than I had thought, and when we discover what truly brought us together, all bets are off.

Once Upon A Red-Hot Kiss...
A man needs to stay far away from falling into bed with his best friend.
Even if she’s sexy as sin, sweet as candy, and damn near irresistible every single day.
But not only are Macy and I best friends, we’re also complete opposites. She’s perky, upbeat, outgoing and I’m . . . how shall we say . . . a little bit broody.
Then, she reveals something to me that just might lead me to revise all my rules on friends in bed...

Too Good To Be True…
To say I’m wary of love would be an epic understatement. Keep that four-letter word far away from me.
But then a matchmaker friend insists she can pair me with the perfect man for me.
Even when sparks fly and chemistry crackles from the first date, I refuse to believe this kind of insta-connection can be the real thing.
Even though for the first time it feels like it could be.
Or is it just too good to be true?

Strong Suit (a short story)…
From the day I meet Ginny in the conference room, I’m smitten with the co-worker who’s ten years my senior. And I’m going to pull out all the stops to win her over.
