Far out. It’s been a while since my last Tijan read and I am still a fan. That book was such a rollercoaster ride of emotions and I really wasn't Expecting it. Which is probably on me because I saw a trope teaser and new characters and I was jumping up and down screaming, “I volunteer as tribute” without reading the blurb.

You would think the trigger warnings might have clued me in but nope I needed the breath caught in my chest, eyes full of tears, to realise I was in for it. And I was really in for it because I couldn't put it down and I'm praying this is a new series and we are going to get all the characters.

Rain was so broken and so oblivious to herself I couldn't understand how she had a PhD in psychology without more self-awareness. But as the layers were peeled back, I got it. And I loved her so much. Which made me seriously hate some people so much.

Tyler was instantly intriguing and then just grew to purely awesome. That man loves hard and would move mountains for the people he cares about, and I couldn't get enough of him falling for Rain. Because aside from how much he loved her he just kept showing up in all the right ways. And he didn't just show up in the obvious, he showed up in trying to learn more to anticipate her needs before she knew she had them and that was everything.

I really wanted to see some people get run down by zambonis and I wouldn't be surprised if it does happen in a later book if this series continues. These Gray’s are all loyal and beautiful and I really want to see more.
