Holy stomach churning angst. It amuses me to no end that if a book is labelled as angsty I scroll right on past it but if Lex Martin writes it and I know it's going to wreck me I jump in before I can read the blurb. And then spend half the book waiting for my stomach to unknot.
Rory was so beautiful and a tiny bit broken. Not because she wasn't strong and smart and amazing but because everyone had let her down. And I honestly couldn't blame her for being reserved and untrusting. But she wasn't weak and she put herself in uncomfortable positions to help everyone around her. I thoroughly enjoyed her as a character and watching her come into her own was beautiful.
Jace was impossible not to love. Which kind of sucked because I expected a selfish wander who did a lot of personal growth and came out amazing. Instead he started amazing and everything he did that I hated, I completely understood. Especially seeing it from his point of view as it was happening.
Rory and Jace were such a great couple and baby Layla was adorable. I personally would have enjoyed more grovel from Jace. But I really love a good grovel. I suppose what we got was pretty great. The stalker drama kept me on the edge of my seat, I had so many different theories all through the book and every time something happened my theory changed.
I really couldn't put this down and I got to that epilogue and wanted so much more. But I guess now I just have to wait for our final Walker brother to get his book and damn I can't wait.
