As soon as I got my hands on this I knew I had to read the novella first, expecting that book to introduce this book. And honestly it didn't do that at all. The main characters weren't mentioned or were mentioned in passing and I forgot in the first book. So I started off kind of bummed we weren't getting either of the two characters I was anticipating reading.
Then I got over that and realised I had inhaled half of this book in one sitting and was so invested in Callahan and Nora. I always roll my eyes when the whole mistaken room-mates thing happens. Honestly there's got to be contracts and duty of care and such and I would be losing my naanies in that situation. But the whole thing worked and I very quickly added that to the “who cares these guys are awesome” list.
Callahan had me anticipating all kinds of man whore drama and actions from. But man that boy was locked in on his goals and looking after everyone around him. And despite being her own hero, Nora was soon added to Callahan's list of people. Throw in a heap of chemistry and I couldn't turn the pages fast enough.
The secondary characters were great and I can't wait to see a whole lot more of them. The story kept me guessing and I really enjoyed watching it all play out. And as mentioned the chemistry was smoking. Now I guess we wait for the next one.
