I'm in this horrible position of having a book I've been super excited to read just be a meh read. And for some reason I feel guilty I didn't love it because I love Bella's writing and I'm enjoying the series. But this one did not live up to the hype I gave it in my head.
First I honestly don't remember Lennon and I don't know if that's my goldfish memory or if she just hasn't had much of an introduction. Either way she wasn't a bad character I just don't really love the whole royal etc thing. It's not my thing and I tend to avoid it.
Now madman. This is where it all fell apart for me. I wanted the over the top Mafia prince. I get that he was not the big fish in her world but still where's the growling protective dirty fighting alpha? And I don't have an issue with the whole “it's always been you but I played through hundreds of faceless women.” I do have a HUGE problem with one of them was your cousin. Sure my cousin you could be excused for not knowing there's a connection. A freaking royal family event in their country those dots are big enough my 7 year old would connect them.
So all that aside I did have moments where I got caught up and wanted to know what happened next. I did get my Kroydon Hills fix. And I will be reading the next book. I am very relieved that we are getting at least one more book in the series. I don't care if it's a bodyguard or a brother. I'm ready for it.
