I seriously need to find a way to block out real life when I am trying to escape from it in books. All I wanted to do was curl up on the couch and lose myself in this story and I swear the kids came up with eleventy million reasons to hit me up and make me live in reality. Because seriously look at the tropes in this story and tell me it isn't the perfect escape from a cold and wet winter.

Wren was the absolute star of this story for me and I was dying to get to know her after the brief introduction we got from her in the previous series. Knowing how huge a douche her brother was and how badly she wanted to make amends I knew I was going to love her but she really did live up to her potential. After a lifetime of being groomed to stand back and look pretty but be silent and obedient she hit her limit and stood up for what she knew was right.

Talon was not a bad hero he just took too long to be the person I wanted him to be from the beginning. And to be honest I think I probably judged him against the guys in the previous series and they were a pretty high bar to reach. But once he couldn't deny what was right in his face he did stand up quickly and become rock solid.

I wanted to see a lot more fall out from the whole drama but that's more about my vengefulness than any lack in the story I just like to watch people pay for the crap they pull. But hopefully we get more of that in the next books in the series. But either way I'll be here seeing how all these guys fall and hopefully getting more of Wren and Talon.
