I don't know what I was expecting from this book. I was so excited to read it when we got tiny bits and pieces of Lexi. But for some reason when it finally landed on my kindle I was semi reluctant to pick it up. I wasn’t sure I was in the right headspace for an emotionally messy book. And I was scared of how it could all play out.

And yes, I'm an idiot. Because I can honestly say I have never not thoroughly enjoyed a book in this series or by this author. This is what large family romance series are made of.

Lexi was hard for me to relate to initially. Not because she wasn't amazing, she was. But she was just so beautiful and together and had such an amazing family I really struggled with how she didn’t see it and stand up. But that's the power of a narcissist and once she did stand up herself she just got even better.

Kirby however was kind of the star of the show for me. Because not only did he get what Lexi was going through and help her build herself back up. He was also such a great character towards everyone around him. And I am a sucker for the genuinely nice guys who don't need to whip it out and throw it around. That said gah he was just book boyfriend dreams for Lexi and i was so sad to hear the end.

I'm hoping that we got a couple of easter eggs at the end for an upcoming book. Although I'm here for it regardless. Oh and I mostly listened to the audio version of this and loved it. Sometimes the narration can really not work for me but this one landed perfectly and I think I only read 1 chapter out of the whole book.
