Sometimes I see the tropes and trigger warnings on these books and get a little nervous. I like dark, bully romances but I never feel “ready” to read them. Then I get to the end and I don't know if the book is genuinely not that dark or I'm just desensitised. Now in the case of this book, if SA, anxiety and panic attacks are triggers for you then maybe give this a miss or read it in a way that is safe for you. But as far as some of the darker bullying, idk this book doesn't have that, but it didn't need it.
Everything about Selena and Brody was intense and I wasn't ready for him. I started the book feeling very sympathetic to Selena but she also annoyed me a little. Until Brody bullied her into finding her backbone. And then I think I loved her as much as I loved him. Because his growth was beautiful and hot af. The way he pursued Selena and then how hard he loved her was romance gold.
The twists and turns were beautifully executed and I am so sad the book has ended. I am really hoping that we are going to get Cal's book next.
