This is one of those times where I saw the tropes and teasers and absolutely had to get my hands on this book. Despite the fact I haven’t read anything from this author previously, and I am not a huge mafia fan, I was right there waiting to get my grabby hands on this one.

And I have no regrets. The writing was good and I can absolutely see myself picking up more books from this author in the future, especially since I am pretty sure that this book is the first in the series and I am hoping the next book is Cillian, or any of the brothers really.

Adriana was such a great heroine. She absolutely knew who she was and where she fit in the world and that was on top, intimidating anyone who underestimated her. And Lochlan was an absolutely awesome hero. There was so much to love about their relationship and the way it grew and progressed so naturally.

Lochlan was the epitome of strength and yet he had no issue giving all the control to Adriana. And he was so comfortable in his own masculinity he had no issue showing his vulnerability and I couldn’t get enough of him as a hero. I loved how he owned his minor and honestly completely excusable (to me) mistake and then went so far to prove himself to Adriana.

Now the Mafia angle was a little off for me and I felt like it was mafia light but yet somehow seemed to be so much about them at the same time. Luckily I didn’t care about that too much because I was too busy caught up in the relationship and trying to figure out when and who was behind the upcoming dramas. The epilogue was cute and I felt like most of the strings were tied in nice little bows so I can walk away happy and dreaming about Lochlan (sorry honey)
