JILTED
By Sawyer Bennett
Release Day : July 11th

Hollywood hath no fury like a woman scorned. In this fun, flirty second-chance romance from New York Times bestselling author Sawyer Bennett, an aspiring starlet reconnects with her first love.

“Sawyer Bennett never fails to deliver heroes I fall hard for and heroines I adore.”—Violet Duke

Eden Goodnight went to Los Angeles to make it big, not to be publicly humiliated by her cheating fiancé at a red-carpet premiere. But when Eden returns to her hometown to put the scandal behind her, she can barely find a sympathetic shoulder to cry on. Turns out the locals are worse than the paparazzi, and they all think she’s turned into a spoiled brat. But in a strange twist of fate, the one person who seems to understand what Eden’s going through is Cooper Mayfield . . . the boy she left behind.

Small-town charm is no match for the glitz and glamour of Hollywood. At least that’s what Coop’s been telling himself all these years. As Eden’s old flame—and the landscaper for her family’s historic home—Coop feels some responsibility for getting her out of her funk. But as soon as he sees that million-dollar smile, he’s a goner. Soon they’re making out like teenagers again. But when a life-changing role falls into Eden’s lap, Coop just hopes she doesn’t give up on a love that’s meant to be.

Wake up and feel the wood! In the first of a series of irresistible standalone romances from New York Times bestselling author Sawyer Bennett, a city girl rediscovers love and lust in the Alaskan wilderness.

Valentine French may be the sassiest dating columnist in New York City, but the abundance of metrosexuals in her adopted metropolis is seriously cramping her style. Where are the beefy all-American boys? Hoping to find some inspiration, Val heads to Alaska, where the men outnumber the women fifteen to one and wrestle grizzly bears for sport. Or so she can only imagine. Suddenly the most eligible bachelorette in a town full of horny lumberjacks, Val is writing her best columns ever. But if she doesn’t get her nose out of her laptop, she just might miss out on Mr. Right.

Logan Burke is the sheriff of the little podunk town that Val finds so charmingly backward. He’s not that different from the guys she’s using for her little experiment; it’s just that one date would never be enough for Logan. As he listens to Val complain about love over beers in the local tavern, he realizes that she can’t see the forest for the trees. Because if she would ever give up her Prada bags and fourteen-dollar martinis, Logan would give her the only luxury that matters: his heart.

OMG this was one seriously hot book. The chemistry was awesome and the sex scenes were just perfect. Not that Sawyer doesn’t normally nail it but I actually had to fan myself a few times while reading this and since privacy was so minimal I actually had a few moments where I did the look around because I was sure everyone in 100 metres had to know what I was reading.

I went into the book expecting not to like Valentine very much. I mean she is a spoilt, rich, socialite who is going to Alaska to run a social experiment on the men there. I figured she would be shallow and uncaring. Luckily for me I was way off and I loved her. She was quirky and despite being a lot of the above she was sweet and caring and I found myself actually rooting for her to get her happily ever after.

Logan I loved about 80% of the time. He had the whole possessive, dirty talking thing and I really loved how he was with Valentine but when things didn’t go his way he acted like a dick and I just wanted to smack him. I mean seriously dude twice you flew off the handle without getting any information then sulked like a two year old. Not attractive. But then he would make amends and be so sweet and awesome I would get over it all pretty quick.

The secondary characters were great and I can’t wait to see where this series is going to go.

Excerpt

“Who the hell books a flight for seven a.m.?” I grumble under my breath as I hoist my suitcase out from the boot of the taxi. I toss a twenty through the open window of the driver’s seat, telling him to keep the change. The whole twenty cents. Yeah, I’m generous like that.

I’ve barely slept, which I guess is good considering the eighteen-hour flight I have ahead of me. Unless she’s going to want to talk the whole way, in which case no sleep is bad. Of course she is. Women always want to talk. Dying women probably take that to a whole other level. I chastise myself for being so insensitive. Let’s see if I can get through this trip without offending the girl. Or more realistically, let’s see if I can get through the week.

I stroll through departures, scanning the crowd for Erin. I’ve only met her twice now, but she was kind of unforgettable—hot in a she-has-no-idea-how-hot-she-is kind of way. Even that first time, all wet and dishevelled, she was mesmerizing.

My eyes fall on her and a smile tugs at my lips. She’s bent over her open bag, her long blond hair hanging loosely over her shoulder. It feels kind of wrong that I’m checking her out, given her situation, but I can’t help myself. I give it another minute before I walk over to join her.

“Hey,” I say.

She jumps, straightening up. Her face reddens when she faces me.

“You’re supposed to do the packing thing at home,” I tease her. Half her luggage is dumped onto the floor next to her, and I love that she doesn’t seem to give a shit.

“I’m looking for something,” she retorts, narrowing her stunning blue eyes.

I raise my eyebrows curiously and grin.

“It’s not important.”

“It obviously is,” I argue. I’m enjoying playing with her. “And the fact that you don’t want to tell me what it is makes me wonder…”

“Well stop wondering,” she replies. “If you want to do something useful, help me zip this up. It’s stuck.” She bends back over and gives the zip a yank, as if to prove her point.

“It’s stuck because you have this caught in it.” I grab hold of the offending material and back the zipper up. It releases, and I proudly hold it up. “Lacy and transparent,” I say when I realise I’m holding a pair of her panties. I let out a low whistle. “I’m impressed.”

She blushes and snatches them out of my hand, shoving them back in her suitcase. She zips it closed and glares at me. “I’m beginning to regret this already,” she growls.

“Never regret lacy panties, Erin,” I tease. “But seriously, I’m just messing with you. This trip will be great. Trust me. We’ll have fun.”

“I’m having trouble believing that,” she retorts, properly facing me for the first time.

When I first read the blurb for this book I really wanted to read it but I knew my big girl panties would need to be pulled right up. It was obvious from the blurb that this was going to be one of those huge ugly cry books that need a bottle of wine and a box of tissues.

So when Missy offered me an ARC I was so wanting to read it and so scared to read it but I couldn’t say no. When it landed on my kindle my 16 year old daughter immediately stole it and read it and I can now officially tell you that little monster must be adopted. Why? After she finished the book she said “It was awesome you will love it.” Sounds good so far right? Yup, but when I asked was it sad will I cry like a baby? Her response was “it was sad and not what I expected but I didn’t cry at all when I read it.”

Cool I thought, I will read it while the boys have basketball training, what can go wrong? Well in short I cried and I cried and I fucking cried while messaging my husband to make sure our daughter doesn’t ever get to make any important end of life kind of decisions over us. Since obviously her feelings button is so broken.

From page one I was a mess yet so completely addicted. I mean damn how do you face the end of your life at 24? Well in Erin’s case she did it not just with dignity and grace but also with a heap of compassion for her friends and family but also with a kick arse sense of humour and a need to live every last minute of it to the fullest and I adored her. She was amazeballs.

Cade was one of those characters who grew on me. At the start he had so much of his own drama going on but when it’s literally written on the pages next to a girl facing the end of her life I just wanted to junk punch him and tell him to suck it up. But before you think he is an insensitive acehole once he met her he put his own shit into perspective pretty quickly and he was just beautiful.

The best part of this book for me was that despite the fact I cried buckets of tears reading it I also laughed out loud (yes I looked like a crazy person but the basketball mums are used to me now so the men in white jackets weren’t called). The amount of pure emotions that were pulled out of me reading this book stunned me.

Ok so I am not in anyway going to tell you how the story ends since from the blurb my daughter and I both had completely different ideas on how this all was going to go and I think you need to experience it yourself but what I will tell you is that all the drama that Cade went through and overcame with the help of the perfect Erin was so well wrapped up with one big fucking exception but even my vengeful little conscience can understand and forgive that.

So for now I am off to buy a bottle of wine and maybe look into some kind of therapy for my normally lovely daughter.
