FBI agent, Eden Collins is going home... to catch a killer.  Fans of Audey Harte’s It Takes One and Kendra Elliott's Bone Secrets series, will devour The Devil’s Daughter, the fast-paced and suspenseful first book, in the Hidden Sins series by NYT and USA Today Bestselling Author Katee Robert.

Synopsis

Growing up in a small town isn’t easy, especially when you’re the daughter of a local cult leader. Ten years ago, Eden Collins left Clear Springs, Montana, and never once looked back. But when the bodies of murdered young women surface, their corpses violated and marked with tattoos worn by her mother’s followers, Eden, now an FBI agent, can’t turn a blind eye. To catch the killer, she’s going to have to return to the fold.

Sheriff Zach Owens isn’t comfortable putting Eden in danger, even if she is an elite agent. And he certainly wasn’t expecting to be so attracted to her. As calm and cool as she appears, he knows this can’t be a happy homecoming. Zach wants to protect her—from her mother, the cult, and the evil that lurks behind its locked gates. But Eden is his only key to the tight-lipped group, and she may just be closer to the killer than either one of them suspects…

Excerpt

By the time she made it back to the courtyard, it was empty, everyone having gone off to their varying duties. Martha might be a monster of a particular variety, but she had a well-run establishment. But then, she would. Keep her people too busy to stop and wonder about some of the insane shit she preaches. That saying about idle hands didn’t originate with the Greeks, but her mother had never been shy about incorporating whatever dogma she found most useful. No one questioned it.

No one but Eden.

And she’d paid for every question she’d asked.

She stopped next to her car, slowing her movements, because if she didn’t exert total control, she was going to fling herself into the driver’s seat and tear out of here as fast as the car could go. She wouldn’t stop in Clear Springs. She’d just keep driving until she put a few states between her and Elysia.

Not an option. You made damn sure of that.

She noticed the door was unlocked and frowned. Had she locked it when she got here? Eden couldn’t be sure. She’d been so rattled and practically bursting with adrenaline and dread that it was entirely possible she’d headed for her mother’s house without pausing to lock the door.

But she didn’t think so.

She opened the driver’s door cautiously, half expecting something to explode. She only had cursory bomb training, so even if she swept the vehicle, she couldn’t be sure she’d find something. If there was even something to find. Hello, paranoia, my old friend. She turned a slow circle, trying to figure out if someone would have had enough time to plant something. If a person had the know-how, setting up a bomb in a half hour was cake.

Way to be reassuring.

She leaned back into the car, a flash of white and yellow catching her eye. Frowning, she leaned in farther and used the pen in her cup holder to hook the circular wreath of daisies lying on the floorboard of the passenger side. It looked like the kind of thing she’d made when she was a kid and bored out of her ever-loving mind during the summer. She’d weave together the flowers that grew in the fields of Elysia into something very similar to this and wear it while she pretended she was Persephone, just waiting for her Hades to appear and whisk her away to be his queen. Eden dropped it like it’d caught fire. She’d completely forgotten about playing that game. Hell, no one knew she’d done it. She’d always been alone out there.

Or so she’d thought.

She wanted to throw the flowers away, to rip the wreath apart and grind it beneath her boots. But it was most definitely some kind of evidence. Even if there was no trace on there to find whoever had left it, it was proof that someone had been watching her when she got here.

Apparently my instincts aren’t as ravaged as I thought.

She wasn’t sure if that was comforting or terrifying.

As soon as I read the blurb for this the grabby hands came out and I was dying to see how Katee Roberts was going to go on her first foray into romantic suspense. I mean it’s no surprise I love her contemporary romance novels; I can’t get enough of her writing style. That said everything I love about Katee’s books wasn’t included in this one but I enjoyed it so much I didn’t even notice until I had put down the book and sat down to review it.

That’s probably because I was so absorbed in the suspense and couldn’t put the book down for long enough to remember my own name. The story was so gripping and I had so many theories on who had done it and how things were going to play out. It kept me guessing until the very end and I really enjoyed the cult setting.

Eden was such a kick arse character. I thoroughly enjoyed being in her head hearing her inner monologues made her feel so genuine and I liked that while she was so tough and self-reliant she wasn’t afraid to let her insecurities show and do what needed to be done.

And then there was Zack. He was so sweet yet still so strong and alpha. He didn’t try to wrap her up in cotton wool despite the fact he had legitimate concerns for her safety. It was so great to see a strong alpha male who fought his own instincts to do what was right for everyone involved.

Despite the fact this isn’t my normal genre and it is miles away from what I expect from Katee Roberts I hung on every word written and I can only hope that Katee has something similar up her sleeve.

Blurb

What happens when your sex strike goes viral -- and suddenly every man in town has their eye on your prize?

All I wanted was little old-fashioned romance. After a parade of Tinder disasters who think chivalry is giving me a pearl necklace on the first date, I made a pledge: until guys step up their game, this girl is off the market.

But one bottle of chardonnay later, and my drunken rant has gone viral. I’m the most famous person NOT having sex since the Jonas Brothers put on their purity rings. A men’s magazine has even put a bounty on my (ahem) maidenhead: fifty Gs to whoever makes me break the drought.

Be careful what you wish for...

Now my office looks like an explosion in a Hallmark factory, I’ve got guys lining up to sweep me off my feet - and the one man I want is most definitely off-limits. Jake Weston is a player through and through. He’s also the only one who sees through the mayhem to the real me, but how can I trust he’s not just out to claim the glory?

And how will I make it through the strike without scratching the itch - especially when that itch looks so damn good out of his suit?

The thrill of the chaste has never been so sexy in Lila Monroe’s hilarious, hot new romantic read!

SYNOPSIS

The last time I saw my best friend’s younger brother, he was a geek wearing braces. But when Cannon shows up to crash in my spare room, I get a swift reality check.

Now twenty-four, he’s broad shouldered and masculine, and so sinfully sexy, I want to climb him like the jungle gyms we used to enjoy. At six-foot-something with lean muscles hiding under his T-shirt, a deep sexy voice, and full lips that pull into a smirk when he studies me, he’s pure temptation.

Fresh out of a messy breakup, he doesn’t want any entanglements. But I can resist, right?

I’m holding strong until the third night of our new arrangement when we get drunk and he confesses his biggest secret of all: he’s cursed when it comes to sex. Apparently he’s a god in bed, and women instantly fall in love with him.

I’m calling bullshit. In fact, I’m going to prove him wrong, and if I rack up a few much-needed orgasms in the process, all the better.

There’s no way I’m going to fall in love with Cannon. But once we start…I realize betting against him may have been the biggest mistake of my life.

This book felt like a whole heap of same, same but different, different. While it covered quite a few different genres there were small twists on all of it that made it feel fresh and unique. Sure it was the usual new adult and it was a best friends sibling and a room mates to lovers but the way it was presented and the twists in the road were different.

I loved that Cannon was younger than Paige. And with both of them knowing exactly who they were individually and where they were going and neither being interested in a relationship I was sure I had the plot all figured out before I even opened the book. Then I read that first page and was scratching my head wondering what the fuck I was getting.

And that first page was just the start of the twists and turns. But then bam smoking hot sex and out of this world sexual tension and then all the feels and suddenly I had a four star read on my hands and an inability to put the book down until I knew how it was all going to end.

Luckily this was the first in a four-part series so now I only need to wait for the next one for another fix.

BOTTOMS UP
Naughty Cock Tales

Love best served shaken not stirred...one naughty drink at a time.

A bartender with a special talent for picking the perfect cocktail meets his match when down-on-her-luck Lexi walks into Bottoms Up. Well known for creating drinks with very naughty names, Justin whips up a cocktail especially for Lexi, hoping to ease the pain he sees in her soulful eyes.

With each sip Lexi realizes she’d much rather stay in Bottoms Up with the sexy, tattooed barman who seems to know just how to heal her broken heart.

Night after night, Lexi is drawn back to the bar to explore Justin’s list of naughty drink recipes in more detail--after hours. One deliciously dirty creation after another unleashes her extreme fantasies when he shows her how to let go of her inhibitions.

One tantalizing drink recipe at a time.

“So what’ll it be?” the bartender asked.
Lexi was instantly dragged back to the present.
“Uh…I don’t know,” she offered, wondering how a drink could possibly dull the emptiness inside her.
He gave a smile and a confident shrug. “Well then, you’re in luck.”
“How’s that?” she asked half-heartedly, not really in the mood for banter
but realizing she was in need of a drink but with no clue what drink she wanted. Just something to make her forget the shitty day she’d had. And the even shittier year.
The bartender with the soul-searching eyes and the cute little smile that even Lexi had to admit was a bit of a mood lifter, leaned on the bar so his eyes were level with hers.
“You’re in luck because it so happens my drink picking skills are legendary.”
“Legendary?” She repeated his claim, aware some would consider her response a flirt, but she felt it was more of a challenge. A challenge to see if he could pick something for her that would make her feel...feel…What the hell did she want to feel anyway?
            “Legendary,” he repeated.
Okay, he was definitely flirting. Lexi couldn’t help but crack a smile.
 “You’re that confident,” she pressed.
“Ten to one I will pick the perfect drink for you.”
“Okay then…give it your best shot,” she said, beginning to enjoy thinking about anything other than her troubles while she stood still holding onto the bar stool, but not yet taking the plunge to hop on the stool and settle in.
Without her uttering another word, the bartender poured one long stream of silken liquor into a cocktail shaker. Its slow path had a mesmerizing affect on her. She watched while he picked up another bottle and poured another brightly colored liquor into the shaker at the same time.  He placed the bottles down and gave her a nod. Her pulse quickened when he gripped the shaker. The condensation on the container made her lips water but it was the flex of his muscled forearms that stirred something else in her. Something she thought she’d long forgotten. Desire.
After a few swift gyrations he uncapped the shaker with a flourish. Then slowly filled the chilled martini glass while reaching for another bottle, adding a final squirt of orange amber liquor to the drink. The effect creating a layered concoction the color of the most exquisite sunset with a deep blue layer on the very bottom while the fiery orange layer almost floated on top.
Satisfied with his handy work he slowly slid the cocktail towards her.
“Try this,” he offered.
Parched with anticipation, her mouth was so dry she wanted more than anything to down the divine looking concoction.
He smiled encouragingly.
One quick drink Lexi told herself. All she’d wanted was one drink. Not to hang out with a flirtatious and sexy bartender. All she was looking for was a reprieve from the scorching summer sun. Something to quench her thirst. And numb her despair. A brief respite before getting back to what she needed to do. Clean out the apartment and hand in the keys. And thanks to being laid off that morning, she now added finding a job to her growing ‘to do’ list.
Reaching for the glass, Lexi lifted it up to her lips, her gaze meeting his when her lips touched the rim.
“Bottoms Up,” he said with an undeniably sexy tone.
“Bottoms Up, ” she replied, trying to stifle her grin. And trying her best not notice to that he was still watching her. She tipped the glass and took a long sip. Yum. Sweet at first, then a surprising kick when the liquor layer melted down her throat — coursing past her tonsils and warming a spot right between her breasts. Her eyes teared from the potency of the drink.
“You like it,” he announced with satisfaction.
She nodded, and took another sip, this time the cool frosty layer lingering in her throat, ready for that warm shot of liquor to follow. Intriguing.
“Perfect,” she answered, showing him just how much it hit the spot by downing the rest of it in two more sips.
His eyebrows arched and he flashed a heart-melting smile. That was if she had a heart to melt, she chided herself.
“Go on, hop up, I’ll make you another.” He motioned for her to sit.
What now? Stick to her plan, one drink, pay her bill and be gone back into the heat? She watched him pull a martini glass from a cooler, the clear glass immediately frosting up even with the cool air conditioning keeping the bar bearable compared to the sweltering temperature outside.
She watched as he went about making another drink. Shit, how did this drinking in the afternoon thing work? Sure, she’d hung out in her share of nightclubs, into the wee hours with her friends, but this was different. She checked her watch. Four thirty in the afternoon. Heat of the Tucson day. Temps reaching one hundred ten degrees about now or even hotter. Heat or no heat, the last thing she wanted to do was walk back out that door and face life. The realty was it was easier to sit on the bar stool with this sexy bartender and forget about all her troubles.
That’s the spirit. To hell with reality!
Lexi nodded her approval and unhooked her foot from the barstool rung, settling herself up on the seat.  She knew she definitely needed another of whatever it was that warmed her from the inside out and made her bad day begin to seem a little less bad.
He put the finishing touch on the drink and then passed it to her.
“Thank you,” she said and glanced along the bar. A waitress waited
impatiently at the end of the counter for their orders.
“I’ll get to those in a sec,” he assured them, but his attention remained on Lexi, expectantly, while she took another delicious sip and then another.
“It’s really very good,” she agreed, lifting the drink in toast. “Bottoms Up,” she added and took another sip. He gave a chuckle that made her blush. “That’s the name of the drink…?” she queried when he seemed to be enjoying a little humor that escaped her.
“Oh, that’s not the name of the drink,” he said, with a slow knowing smile that made her hand tremble as she clutched her glass. ‘Bottoms Up’ is the name of the bar,” he corrected her. Motioning with his head to the large pink neon sign over the bar that had somehow escaped her in the short time she’d been there. ‘Bottoms Up’ was spelled in winding script with a flourish at the end that looked distinctly like the bottom of a sexy ass.
Lexi’s cheeks flamed, feeling silly and embarrassed. She quickly took another sip. The cold rush of drink stung her right between the eyes. Ice cream headache.  Over the rim of the glass she caught his sexy grin. Like he was enjoying her discomfort. Mortified, she looked down, placing the empty glass back on the cocktail napkin, noting the “Bottoms Up’ emblem on it with a sassy drawing of a martini glass in the shape of a sexy round derriere.
