BOOK BLURB
We were high school sweethearts until she left without a backward glance. Now Lucy Perry’s back and more beautiful than ever. I want to stay angry with her but I can’t. I want to resist her but it’s impossible.
She wants a fling but I want forever. I’ll take her on a trip down memory lane—the drive-in movie theater, picnics on the beach, and a boat ride to our favorite spot. She’s going to fall in love with this town. She’s going to fall in love with me. There’s no way she can walk away from me twice.
I never thought I’d be back in my hometown. Then I lost my job, my apartment, and I moved back in with my parents. I told myself it’s only temporary but I have to face everyone I left behind—my family, my friends, and Wyatt Carter. He wasn’t the reason I left but he was the reason I never came back.
He’s no longer the sweet easy-going predictable guy I dated. He’s an intriguing mix of cocky, grumpy, and bossy which is sexier than the way he fills out his park ranger uniform. I can’t resist him anymore than I could when I was eighteen. And I don’t want to. I want to explore our chemistry but he wants a commitment—the one thing I’ve never been able to give him.
He thinks the two blue lines change everything but he’s wrong.

It seems like bully romance is in in a big way at the moment and to be honest it's not something I read a lot of recently. It used to be one I enjoyed but I have been going through a low angst, safe romance faze for a while. However with all of my GoodReads feeds being flooded with it I haven't been able to avoid it and the blurb for this one had me racing to Amazon and discovering it's a KU title.
So I'm not going to lie Dalton was a complete jerk and he made everyone else join in on Pipers torture. And when his amnesia hit I wasn't really sure what to expect especially after reading the prologue. Because that prologue had me holding my breath for most of the book.
Dalton gave pretty good grovel but Piper didn't just roll over. She held him accountable for everything he had put her through and she didn't just trust in his newfound change of heart. But as he proved himself and she forgave him she didn't hold it over his head either.
I loved her inner strength. She was mature beyond her years and although she didn't stand up for herself her strength and maturity came from all that she'd been through. And I really liked her. She knew her worth and she communicated what she was feeling and what she wanted.
I really really wanted to see Dalton get his memory back and more of how their relationship was received at the school. And I felt the ending was a little abrupt and left things too open but it has set up Frankie and Zeke's story. Fingers crossed we get more Dalton and Piper in their book because I want more.

Waking up to a text
asking why you stood up your blind date is not the best way to start the day,
especially when the man in question is standing half dressed in your kitchen.
Maybe Dakota Newton
shouldn’t have assumed the gorgeous man with a devastating smile standing
outside the coffee shop was her date. She probably— Okay, she definitely
shouldn’t have slept with him, regardless of how hot the chemistry between them
was. But how could she know Mr. Right was actually Mr. Wrong?
Braxton Adams has
been called a few things in his life, but a liar was never one of them. That
all changes when he’s approached by a beautiful woman who thinks he’s there to
meet her for a date.
As a businessman,
Brax knows to trust his gut and never let an opportunity pass him by, so he
pretends to be someone he’s not.
Maybe he shouldn’t
have lied. Maybe he should have come clean. But in the end, it doesn’t matter,
because now he has to prove he’s not the wrong man but the right one.
So what if he’s not
the man she’s expecting? She’s the one he’s been waiting for.
Aurora Rose
Reynolds is a New York Times, USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestselling

stories with readers all over the world.

This is the over the top, possessive alpha I have been looking for for the last few weeks. I have had such a craving for a hero like Braxton that the whole time I was reading this I did it with a weird sappy smile on my face. I knew Aurora has the ability to write those heroes and I even redownloaded Until November to reread when I couldn’t find anything that lived up to what I was craving when this one landed on my kindle. And honestly regardless of if he was a crazy OTT alphahole or not I would still be just as happy to receive this since it’s Aurora Rose Reynolds and her writing is perfection.
But it doesn’t matter because Braxton is everything crazy, insane, controlling, possessive, protective, crazy alpha I wanted and more. Honestly if I met him in person I would kick him in the boys and move house but in a book it just works for me. He was so completely all in from the first time he laid eyes on Dakota it was awesome.
Dakota was a great leading lady too. She absolutely thought he was nuts and she didn’t allow his crazy to just steamroll her life. She stood up for herself and she questioned and argued every time his brand of crazy came out to play. I really liked her. She was her own person and she knew what she wanted and she worked to get it. And even when Braxton was acting crazy and she understood the why’s she still stood up for herself and went ahead with what she wanted.
The drama in the story didn’t come from where I expected and I kind of got caught out trying to figure when the bus took that turn but I was still more than happy to continue on with the ride. Personally it felt like it came out of nowhere and was resolved way too quickly but that said I also am really happy that it wasn’t super drawn out and ridiculous. I was surprised there wasn’t more of a resolution with Dakota’s boss and her niece because that felt a little up in the air but I think that’s only because I was expecting it to be more of the story, not that it was actually unresolved. And honestly the whole book felt like it wrapped up way too quickly but again that’s probably because I was hoping for a million more pages and can never get enough.
Wow that sounded like a lot of negatives but I really loved the book. I loved the characters, the plot twist and the sweet as sugar epilogue. I just always want more words from Aurora. And even if I got them I would probably still ask when I’m getting more so meh.

She
belongs to my brother…
I’ve stood back for years watching Dax repeatedly screw things up with
Kennedy, as if he doesn’t think anyone could ever swoop in and steal her away.
Breakup after breakup, they always end up back together, even though I’ve
always had a thing for her. I’m tired of waiting. He had his chance.
I want
mine.
When Dixie’s Alibi — her Grandmother’s bar — needs a new
cook for the food truck, I jump at the opportunity, despite the fact that
Kennedy Ward hates me. At least, she pretends she does. We both know she
secretly wants me and always has.
One way or another, I will get her to finally admit it, even if it
involves losing my brother. I plan to play dirty — real dirty — just like he
did. This time I’m going to beat him at his own game. I wanted her first, and
he knew that, but our age kept us apart. Not anymore.
Now, I’m
grown and ready to take what should’ve been mine to begin with.

Excerpt
My shift doesn’t start for another hour, but I figured coming in early
would mean missing Colson and not having to communicate with him on my way
inside.
As I pull into the back parking lot to find him standing against the
door, resting his skateboard above his shoulders, I realize I was wrong. He’s
talking to two girls and Travis, but his attention is focused on me
parking my car.
He’s cool, calm, and collected, just smoking his cigarette, eyes still on
me as I step out of my car and shut the door behind me. Swallowing, my gaze
wanders down the plain black T-shirt and ripped-up jeans he’s wearing. No one
pulls that look off better than he does. I’ve always found the way he dresses
to be so damn sexy. Even back when I didn’t think he was.
The tan blonde standing a bit too close in his personal space says
something that catches his attention, and that’s when I notice the ass hanging
out of those cutoff shorts belongs to Emery Wilson. No one could mistake it for
anyone else’s.
Should’ve known she’d still be on the hunt for his dick. She’s a year
younger than Colson and has had a thing for him since she was twelve. She
learned how to skate just so she could spend most of her time at the park
stalking him.
Keeping his attention on me, he says something to his friends before
putting out his smoke and disappearing inside. What the hell is he doing?
I hurry inside myself, my attention immediately landing on Colson behind
the bar with a towel now over his shoulder.
“What are you doing behind the bar?”
He smirks and slaps a coaster down in front of me. “Maybe I’m just getting
a soda. Want one?”
I place the coaster back on the pile, annoyed. “Where’s my grandmother?”
“Said she had to take off a little early. I was here, so she asked me to
keep an eye on things until you arrived.”
“So, you’re here alone?”
“Not anymore.” He looks me over, jaw flexing as if he’s holding himself
back. “But I would definitely enjoy it if we were.”
“I can take it from here.” I snatch the towel from his shoulder and make
my way behind the bar, ready to get him back outside where he belongs. “You can
go out back and skate around for a while or something. Anything but hang
around in here.”
“Why was Dax here last night? Did he fuck you on the bar?” he asks, his
question catching me off guard. I thought he’d left by the time Dax arrived.
“That’s none of your business.”
“Maybe I want to make it my business.”
Exhaling, I toss the rag into the bucket of bleach water and turn to face
him. Instead of making his way outside like I asked, he’s making himself
comfortable on a stool. The way he’s looking at me is making me the opposite. I
can’t deal with those eyes of his on me right now, so I think of what is
necessary to get him outside quicker. “He doesn’t know you’re back yet, but I’m
sure he will when he stops in later.”
“Any particular reason you didn’t tell him?” he pushes, grabbing a
toothpick and sticking it between his lips. “Guilty conscience?”
“There’s nothing to feel guilty about.”
“You wanting me wouldn’t bother him?”
“You’re delusional if you think I want you.”
“You expect me to believe you’re not thinking about what it’d be like for
me to fuck you on this bar right now?” He smirks. I swallow. “We both
know my brother isn’t man enough to.”

I have had a bit of a girl crush on Kody for awhile now. She is so strong and self assured yet we can all see the spider web cracks running all over her surface. But she didn’t want to be coddled and treated like she was fragile and she fought tooth and nail to be treated like an equal. And she proved how strong she is over and over again.
Kody has had such a hard life and even though she was close with her brothers she still felt kind of like her own island. After losing her first love so devastatingly she picked herself up from the ashes and started again. But she was so closed off and trying so hard to prove she didn’t need anyone she came across as a bit of a bitch.
Hill saw not just her softness but also all the surface cracks and all he wanted was to love her and help her heal them all. I loved that although he saw all her broken parts he also saw all of her strength and he may have wanted to slay all her dragons and burn the world to the ground to protect her but he was also happy to stand at her back and cheer her on while she did it for herself. I adored him. There wasn’t a single part of Kody he didn’t love and even things he wanted her to change he never threw down the gauntlet. He told her what he wasn’t happy with and then said that regardless of what she did about it he was always going to be standing right there with her. And it just made him all the swoonier.
The story took an interesting twist and I honestly wouldn’t have ever predicted that was where it was going but I loved it. I especially love that the next book is Shot’s because I have loved him so much since I first met him. I really can’t wait to get my grabby hands on that book and I love from the authors acknowledgements at the back of the book that he took on a life of his own for her and we are reaping the rewards. Can’t wait!!!
