Blurred Lines is one of those books that has yo yo’d on and off my kindle for various reasons.

Picked up because I love friends to lovers books, taken off because I don’t want to see them with other people. Loaded on again because I love Lauren Layne’s writing, removed because something else has grabbed my attention and I am an idiot and finally started because the blurb for the second one has me needing to read it and I have to read them in order.

Now I am kicking myself because not only was it a great friends to lovers story it had all the steam and emotion I love from a Lauren Layne novel.

This one was pretty typical in the friends to lovers theme but the characters were so well written it was hard not to fall in love with them. Although there were plenty of times I wanted Ben to pull his head out of his arse it was hard not to love him.

I was a little annoyed that they didn’t get together sooner and when they did get together that we didn’t get a little less drama and a little more of them as a couple. It would have been nice to see a little more of the HEA after the stress my emotions went through to get there. But the sex scenes were smoking enough and I felt enough for the main characters that I suppose I can forgive Lauren for that.

And now I can read the next book without worrying that I missed something or that I am not getting inside jokes carried over from the first book. And after that blurb I can’t wait to jump right in.
