Melissa Foster hooked me with her Whiskey series and every now and then I see her name and jump in to her books without thought. And for a reason I couldn't tell you this book jumped out at me and I dove in.

I didn't realise this was the third in a series or I probably would have added the first one to my TBR and never gotten around to reading it. But with that said it doesn't matter if it's the first or fiftieth with these books. They can all be read as standalones and you can go back and read an earlier one without any real issues. I just prefer to read my books in order, although I am getting less anal about it as i get older and my TBR pile gets bigger.

So about this book. It was sweet. The characters were unique. The families were great. And at any other time the sugar overdose would have been perfect. But I know myself well enough to know that the reason this book wasn't working for me is that I am entirely distracted with my real life and I needed to be caught up in a whole mess of drama and this wasn't it.

I read it and enjoyed it, I just couldn't get swept away by it which annoyed me to no end. And every time I did get into it one of my real life distractions would drag me out of it. So a book I would normally inhale in an afternoon took me 3 days to read.

So I am giving it three and a half stars knowing that if I read it last month or next month it would be a four or a four and a half star read and I really suggest if your looking for a whole heap of sweet, drama free, make your eye teeth ache, romance you one click this one.
