I am so devastated to have read all of these Wolves books. I wasn't aware that The Crush was book three in the series and read it first. Although honestly it had no effect at all on my reading enjoyment. Which may have more to do with my goldfish memory and my inability to retain names than anything else.

Going into this one months after having read the other books I felt like I was a bit out of the loop. I can still remember all the major players, but I couldn't remember all the details of events. Luckily for me this book was so full of all things Lydia and Erik, I don't think it would matter if I read it right after the others.

Obviously, Lydia was pretty kick arse and completely wonderful despite the events that had led to her needing Erik as her bodyguard. Erik was a bit of a pain. I don't know what it says about me that I am upset he made Lydia fight for their relationship. It took him so long to get his head out of his arse that I was kind of annoyed with him. But then he came through and I forgave him for it. Even if he could have given a lot more grovel, his adoration in the epilogue made me all warm and fuzzy.

But like I said at the start, wah, I'm out of Washington Wolves books. Luckily for me Karla has written a whole heap of other books I can check out because I really love her writing. Plus, she writes some awesome leading ladies, and the guys aren't too bad either. So, I guess I best go start stalking her selection. Kisses
