Oh my god that book was completely unputdownable (shut up that's a word now). That was absolutely one of my favourite reads this year, which isn't really a surprise since I adore everything Sarina Bowen and Elle Kennedy have written but I went into this so completely blind I had no idea what to expect except that it was M/M.

And when it started and I met Keaton and Annika my stomach may have formed nervous knots. Especially since I liked them both immediately and naturally my brain started trying to figure out how this book was going to play out. I was so nervous but so completely spellbound I couldn't put it down if the house was on fire.

Then it just got hot. I mean damn the chemistry between these guys literally had me blushing and fanning myself. Then I was completely laughing out loud. And I even had a moment where I shed a few tears. Because this book has amazing writing and the story was awesome and I feel like I lived it right along with them. I was that invested in these characters.

Luke broke my heart for him. I loved him and I wanted the world for him but I did have some serious doubts that he could get past his own baggage to be good enough for Keaton. I just loved them as a couple so much.

But seriously this book is THE SHIT! And I say that as a reader who very rarely reads M/M romance. Sarina and Elle as a duo just completely ruined me in the very best of ways. The only way this could be better is if I could read it again for the first time.

I rarely read MM romance, not because I don’t like it but just because there’s so many other romance genres that I prefer I never get there except for a few certain authors who if they write it I will read it. And Tessa Bailey is one of the authors at the top of that list. Her books are just so freaking hot yet they aren’t lacking in the emotion or storyline either. Sometimes I think she has the map to all my kinks.

And this series has been perfect. I loved Olive and Rory so much and I really enjoyed meeting the other Prince brothers. And I really did fall hard for Marcus and Jamie but I really didn’t think I would be as big a fan of Marcus as I came to be. He came across as being so full of himself but in a way that was cute and loveable until I started to see him through Jamie’s eyes and see everything he was going through from his own point of view. Then he was just perfect.

I can’t even fathom how hard it would be to go through being judged for who you are as a person. And watching Marcus struggle with not just realising he was gay but also how to tell his family actually made me tear up a little bit. And then on the flip side Jamie being out and proud despite the things he had gone through to get there I completely understood him not wanting to wait for Marcus to figure out who he was.

Of course the writing was so good that I felt every emotion they went through. The good and the bad. Then you have Tessa Bailey’s trade mark sizzling, hot as hell chemistry and the whole book was unputdownable. From start to finish I was so involved and I loved every word of it.

And now I am dying to get my hands on the next book which had better be Andrew and Jiya’s or I may have to start a mutiny. Plus I am dying from the suspense of who the damn guy is floating around. Just release the damn book already Tessa.

Even though I don’t read a lot of M/M romance I just can’t go passed Sarina Bowen’s. Her writing is just so perfect and contains so much emotion I can’t get enough. And the fact that every book has the slightest crossover always makes me feel like I am in on an inside secret and I get a little thrill every time I come across it.

This is the second in the series and could be read as a true standalone, but why would you want to? Josh and Caleb were amazing in Goodbye Paradise and they do have a few cameo visits in this book so I really suggest you read that one first.

Axel and Cax were beautiful together. Every interaction I could feel their chemistry and I was so desperate to see them together that from the first word I couldn’t put it down until I got my happily ever after.

These guys went through so much individually that my heart just broke for them. Poor Cax had so much against him I just wanted to wrap him up and take away all of his issues. But Axel was so perfect and he not only understood where Cax was coming from he went out of his way to make things better for him at his own expense.

I loved watching these guys over come every obstacle and fight for their forever. This whole book was so gripping and had the perfect mixture of sweetness and sexy with plenty of emotion mixed in.  This whole series has been beautiful and I can’t wait to see what’s next from the beautiful and talented Sarina Bowen.

So obviously, Sarina Bowen could write a tampon ad and I would have to read it. And since she is one of very few authors who the leading characters gender makes very little difference even though the m/m genre isn't one I actively search out. And yet every single one of her books has been such a massive hit for me.

I hadn't heard of the original version of this book so when I got the opportunity to read this one I just read the blurb and dove right on in. I was expecting a lot of angst and heartbreak. I am incredibly happy to say there wasn't a lot of either and instead I got an absolutely beautiful love story. But in true Sarina Bowen form it did also include some smoking hot sex scenes.

The book is told in large sections of alternate point of views continuing on from each other. But it also includes a lot of background information and the details on the cult and their lives within it were so detailed I felt like I was there with them.

I love the fact that having read the true north series I already knew a little bit about paradise from Leah and Isaac. And although it had no impact on the story and wouldn't matter if you hadn't read them it just added a little something to the story for me.

The secondary characters in this were as beautiful as the main men and despite the fact I did shed a few tears this was just an all round sweet story. Caleb and Josh were the perfect heroes and watching them enter and adapt to a whole new world had me up to 3am because there was no way I could put the book down.

This is one of those rare reads where everything worked so perfectly that I want there to be another ten books in their story just so I can stay with them. Honestly even if m/m isn't your thing you need to read this book.

Us was a lot more emotional than I was expecting after reading Him. Which I suppose was pretty stupid of me now that I have gone back and read the blurb. But then I expect nothing but amazing from these amazing authors and this book certainly was that.

I spent so much time in tears but they weren’t huge ugly tears they were just caused because I felt like I was so intimately acquainted with these characters that I felt every nuance of their pain. I think the fact that I picked up Us straight after I put down Him meant I never got my head out of the romance of the first book and this one jumped straight into the real life of this couple.

I completely understood where both Jamie and Wes were coming from and despite everything they went through in this book there wasn’t a time when I felt either were at fault. So I just kept right on loving them both and feeling like my heart broke for each of them for what they were dealing with both together and separately.

Like the first book, I literally couldn’t put this one down once I started it, which made cooking dinner interesting. I feel like I have to acknowledge the fact I read these books all out of order since I read Good Boy first then went back and read these two so now I am even more desperate to get my hands on the next in the WAGs series since those characters all play minor parts here. Now I have to go stalk Elle Kennedy and Sarina Bowen some more.

If you haven’t already read any of these books you need to exercise your one click finger. Check out my reviews here

So it’s no secret M/M isn’t my preferred genre, infact the very few I have read were either very highly recommended (ie. forced down my throat) by my friend Diana or were part of a series that I just had to read and I have loved every one of them. But since I am missing the major piece of anatomy featured in these books I tend to stick with what I know and love.

But I read Good Boy and met Wes and Jamie and fell in love with them, I also got hooked on Sarina Bowen and Elle Kennedy that I had to get more of them. So I went stalking  searching for more books of theirs to inhale and I saw the blurb for this and realised this book was kinda linked and was set before that one and I had to get me grabby hands on it. Then fate stepped in and both Him and Us went on sale for only 99c each.

So I one clicked and as soon as it loaded on my kindle I dove in and was immediately hooked. Firstly I have to rave about the writing style of Sarina Bowen and Elle Kennedy, individually they are awesome but together they are epic, so it’s no surprise I loved the book. Their characters always have such depth.

Reading this book my heart broke for Wes. He made a stupid mistake and then followed it up with a stupid decision that broke his own heart. I understood where he was coming from and then Jamie was perfect. He was so forgiving and sweet and open. It was a major case of love at first sight. That said I had a feeling it would be since I have a major crush on the whole Canning crew.

Anyway I am dying to start Us so hopefully this all makes sense and if not then I guess I should simply say this is a book about first loves and romance and even if it isn’t your preferred genre it is well worth reading.
