Oh my god this book was so exactly what I needed
I can’t even begin to get my mind around it. First I need to explain that when
I saw this book a month ago I thought it sounded sweet but I kind of forgot all
about it. Then it rocked up on my kindle and I wasn't really in the mood for it
but I figured I had better read it. Within minutes I was hooked.
So why wasn't I in the mood for it? First I need
to tell you I am in a completely basketball dominated household despite being
an avid AFL fan. And coming to the end of our season here I have been attending
something basketball related 7 days a week for the last 5 months. So to say I
am over basketball is a slight understatement.
Then I pick up this book and it's about college
basketball. I seriously thought my head might explode. But then Ainsley. Sweet,
beautiful, caring Ainsley. And Cade. Holy hell Cade. These are the types of
books that make me love new adult novels. The ones that break off a little
piece of my heart and wrap it up in their pages.
Ainsley has never had anything easy in her life.
She has been the only thing she can count on her entire life and has never
known anything but instability. She has worked her arse off for everything she
has and to provide a safe environment for her sister. Then she bumps into Cade
and damn was he a self centered, entitled, man whoreing arsehole.
Cade has just made the stupidest decision of his
life and with it he is faced with losing everything he has worked towards. With
his last year at college in jeopardy he is forced to accept responsibility for
his mistakes and set about fixing them. Then he bumps into Ainsley and his
focus shifts.
Destiny.
That one word has my tummy fluttering thinking back
on how we connected. Not once. Not twice. But three times we ran into each
other by happenstance.
Two impossibly opposite individuals with completely
different upbringings and circumstances. Yet, we meshed. It’s like what Cade
said TV sports announcers call a perfect shot.
“Nothing but net, baby.”
And I felt their connection to the depths of my soul. Cade made me feel not just the amazing amounts of chemistry these two had but also a really solid emotional connection despite their completely polar lifestyles and experiences. It wasn’t easy and there were bumps along the way but he never once doubted that they were meant to be together nor did he ever do anything to make me doubt his utter devotion to Ainsley.
I fell in love with them both and I had so many
moments where I was holding my breath waiting to see what was going to happen
next. I only put the book down long enough to wipe the tears from my eyes, not
all of them sad.
Before I forget I should mention that while there
were basketball references you don't need to be a basketball fan to follow the
story and it wasn't sport heavy he just happens to be a player. There were a
few references to plays and such but they wouldn't detract from the story if
you didn't understand them.
This is the first book by Sierra Hill that I have
read but I am now slightly obsessed. I am seriously dying to see how this
series continues and who is going to get the next book and when I can get my
