Ok so as you may or may not know I recently read Melissa Foster’s Tru Blue and went a little stalker crazy. I was so in love with that story and the writing I just had to get my dirty little hands on more of her work, so when the opportunity came up to review Dylan I jumped at it. Well after multiple assurances it can be read as a stand-alone (It can) I dove right in.

And then I kinda hit a hurdle. I was thrown off by the third person writing and I really struggled to connect with the book. Add in the usual Christmas freak out and end of school year wind ups and graduations and a whole heap of family drama and I just couldn’t get my head in the book.

Then I hit a point and I absolutely had to know what was going to happen and how it was all going to play out. There was so much smoking hot sex and it was blended so perfectly with humour and affection and family.

The writing was flawless and the characters felt so real and I felt like at any moment they could walk off the pages and drop in for a drink. The interplay with the secondary characters was cute and I thoroughly enjoyed the banter and background information on a few I am looking forward to catching up with in their own books.

Tiffany transitioned so beautifully from this ball busting professional to letting her walls down and letting Dylan in. And it never felt fake or forced, it just felt like a natural progression of their relationship and her character it added so much depth to the story.

Dylan was perfect. He started off so soft and sweet and I was a little scared he might not quite be alpha enough to meet my book boyfriend needs but I needn’t have worried. In no time at all he was all growly and possessive, he had me wishing I could swap places with Tiffany.

And on that note I am off to stalk Melissa Foster and see who’s book I can read next.
