Blurb
As an NHL player, relationships haven’t been my thing. Shrouded in secrecy and speculation, they never last very long. But then that’s what happens when you require an NDA before the first date.

Until Charlene. She’s like a firefly. She’s elusive, and if you catch her she’ll burn bright, but keeping her trapped dulls her fire and dims her beauty.

I caught her. And as much as I might want to keep her, I’ll never put the lid on her jar. Not at the risk of losing her. So I've let her set the rules in our relationship.

But as long hidden secrets expose us both, I discover exactly how fragile Charlene is, and how much I need her.

We’re all broken. We’re all messed up. Some more than others. Me more than most.

Excerpt
You’re turning twenty-six. It’s your champagne birthday, so we need to do something fun.” Violet bounces, making her boobs shake and my mimosa slosh perilously. “It should be themed! We can all wear leather chaps!”

“Could you be any more cliché?” I roll my eyes. “Just to be clear, Darren doesn’t own chaps.”

“Just a ball gag and a mask with no eye holes, according to Alex.”

And we’re back to my sex life. I knew I was getting off so easy.

I wonder if Darren is catching this kind of heat today. I seriously doubt it’s worse than what I’m getting since I don’t think his friends are likely to push his buttons, but I’ll have to ask when I speak to him next. I’m not sure when that will be, either. The message I sent about Gertrude was pretty straightforward and doesn’t necessarily require a response. Maybe I should’ve worded it differently.

Sunny raises her hand, like we’re all still in middle school and she’s waiting her turn to speak. “Wouldn’t a mask with no eyeholes be dangerous? You wouldn’t be able to see where you’re going.” Her eyes widen, and she looks around the room. “And what’s a ball gag?”

I honestly love that Sunny has grown up in this highly overinformed society and still manages to be innocent.
“Yeah, Char, wouldn’t a mask with no eyeholes be dangerous?” Violet props her fist on her chin and smiles. “And please, do explain what a ball gag is.”
“I’m not sure you really want the answer to that, Sunny.” Poppy gives me a look I can’t quite decipher.
Sunny twirls her hair around her finger. “Why not?”
“Where’s the harm in a little bondage-sex education? It’s not like Miller’s ever going to go out and buy either item for her. First of all, Alex would murder him, and secondly, I don’t think that’s Miller’s thing.”
Sunny’s face lights up, and she does jazz hands. “Oh! I think I know what Miller’s thing is!”

Lily grins. “Eating your cookie?”

“He really likes to do that, a lot. When my belly gets too big I’ll have to watch from the mirror.” She gets a faraway look in her eyes. “But he has another thing! Kind of like how you and Randy are always getting it on in bathrooms, except I think it’s a bit more sanitary.”

“And it doesn’t cause thousands of dollars of damage,” Violet adds.

Lily throws her hands up in the air. “That sink was already falling off the wall. It’s not my fault it broke!”

“That was one expensive orgasm,” I say.

“And Randy says it was worth every penny.” Lily’s smile is devious as she bites her knuckle, then turns to Sunny. “Anyway, back to Miller’s thing.”

Sunny wiggles around excitedly in her chair. “So Miller paints my toenails for me.”

“Miller’s thing is painting your toenails?”

“Yes. Well, no. I think he likes my toes.” Her fingers go to her lips, and she looks around the room, her cheeks flushing.

“Say what now?” Violet asks.

”Sometimes he kisses them.” She covers her mouth with her palm and says something unintelligible.

Violet sits forward in her chair. “Hold on a second, does Buck have a foot fetish?”

“Um, I don’t know.” Sunny looks worried now. “Is that weird? Is it, like, mask with no eyeholes kind of weird?”

I am finding it hard to put this review into words. See the problem is I started reading it when I was sick and I wasn't really feeling it. But luckily it was a 24 hour bug and I read the second half when I was feeling better and it worked for me.

When I heard this was BDSM I was nervous, I have gone off that genre and tbh I love these pucked books because they are fun and funny and I couldn't reconcile the two. But the BDSM was done as only Helena could and it wasn't really BDSM at all.

And I know that I know who Charlene and Darren are but it has been forever since I read the rest of the series and my goldfish brain only slightly remembered them. But luckily for me this book could be read as a standalone so I felt like I met some new characters with a heap of “oh yeah, that's right” as I went.

My initial feelings of them as a couple wasn't great but as I got to know them I realised how perfectly they fit. They had such similar broken pieces yet they were each dealing with their own issues in their own ways that to see them come together and fight for them was awesome.

And having all the couples we have met throughout the series be involved in making this couple work just added that extra dynamic to the whole story. Plus we got to see them all get a glorious future.

Absolutely love this series and highly recommend it but if you' re just looking for a stand alone get one clicking !!!!!!!!

Pucked Off, an all-new emotional and sexy STANDALONE from Helena Hunting is LIVE!!

businessman working on laptop in black suit

***A Standalone novel in The Pucked Series***

I’m NHL defenseman Lance Romero, AKA Lance “Romance."
I’m notorious for parties and excess. I have the most penalty minutes in the league. I get into the most fights. I take the most hits. I’m a player on and off the ice. I’m the one women with no inhibitions want.
Not because I like the notoriety, but because I don’t know how to be any other way.
I have secrets. Ones I shared with the wrong person, and she used them against me. Sometimes she still does. I should cut ties. But she makes it difficult, because she’s the kind of bad I deserve.
At least that’s what I believed until someone from my past gets caught up in my present. She’s all the good things in this world. She lights up my dark.
I shouldn’t want her.
But I do.
I should leave her alone.
But I won’t.

Excerpt:

Armed with my clipboard, I walk down the hall to the waiting room. Lance is impossible to miss. Despite the fact that he’s wearing a sweatshirt and the hood is covering half of his face, he’s more than six feet of broad, hockey-playing man.
He’s so wide his shoulders encroach on the chairs on either side, which would explain why no one is sitting next to him. He’s slouched down so his head rests on the back of the chair, and his hands are clasped in his lap, a baseball cap hanging off one knee. His lips, plush and soft—I know since I’ve had them on mine; it might have been a decade ago, but I remember it clearly—are parted. He looks like he’s asleep.
I clear my throat. “Lance Romero?”
He doesn’t move.
Bernadette, the receptionist, gives me a meaningful look.
I clear my throat again and call his name a second time. He jolts awake and the hood falls back, exposing his face. It’s not in good shape. He has a black eye and bruises on his left cheek. There’s a fly bandage across one eyebrow.
Sadly, he’s still hot.
He blinks a few times, yawns, and smacks his lips, his tongue touching the split in the bottom one. His gaze sweeps the room and finally lands on me. Heat explodes in my cheeks and courses through my limbs, warming me from the inside out as he starts at my sneaker-clad feet and roams up over my yoga pants to my company-issued T-shirt before stopping at my face. I can’t look directly at him for more than a couple of seconds. I sincerely hope he doesn’t remember me. I cannot go there and also be professional.
I’m sure the smile he gives me has melted many a panty off a slutty bunny. Mine stay right where they’re supposed to, wedged up my ass.
I force a polite, professional veneer. “I’m ready for you now.”

I have been waiting for Lance’s story since the beginning of this series. He was such an arsehole I just knew that he was going to have a truly epic story with a great reason for all the miserable crap he has pulled over the duration and I really do love a good redeemable arsehole story.

As I started this book I kept having flashes of deja vu from my little goldfish memory and I got so addicted to every word I couldn’t put the book down and I was dying to go back and scour the previous books for any and every mention of Lance and his beautiful new love.

Lance’s story was so heartbreaking and I just wanted his girl to wrap him up in her arms and heal all of his past hurts and ride off into the sunset for their very own happily ever after. But then I did love every single word of this journey I got to watch them go on so I am glad it wasn’t that simple.

I knew that there had to be more to the story of Lance and Tash and for all this time I had my own ideas on what had happened to them previously and who had done what to whom that I was pretty sure I had an idea of how this all was going to play out. Of course I was wrong and I enjoyed every second of being proven wrong.

This book was a lot more emotional and a lot less laugh out loud than the previous books and I think it is probably my favourite so far. I still got the humour from Violet and more of the sweet from Sunny and I am always happy to get a little further into the gang’s future. Now I just have to hope that Helena can write faster so I can dive into the next one.

If you haven’t read this series you should one click them all and spend a weekend binge reading them. But first you can read my Pucked Series reviews here.

So it’s been a while since I last picked up this series. So I feel like I am a little out of the loop on catching up on all the gossip with my nutty Pucked friends. Luckily for me it was just that easy to fall back in with the crew and remember all the laughs and inside jokes from the previous books.

Violet was as over the top as ever and for a while it was a bit too much for me but then as I got into it I found myself in fits of giggles over her own style of cray cray. Alex was his normal sweet self and aside from a few moments where he got a little lost in the drama he was everything I have come to expect from the amazing MC.

I really loved the fact that despite the fact the wedding was the focus they still had their real life issues and dealt with them without any pettiness or drama.
This was a great next novel in this series and I loved catching up with the crew and seeing them all moving on to the next steps in their relationships and has just made me even more desperate for the next book in the series.

Helena Hunting is the absolute best at writing stories that have her readers going from piss your pants laughing to clit twitching sexiness in a single sentence and since the first page of Pucked this series has been a one click, drop everything and lock myself away with my newest book boyfriend.

And Pucked Over was another perfect installation in this perfect series.

I loved the brief introduction of them in Pucked Up and I knew I was going to love Lily. But I wasn’t so sure how Helena was going to make this couple work. Not that I doubted her ability for a second just that I went into the book not bothering to read the blurb and I couldn’t see how these two unique characters could make it work and be as awesome as Sunny and Buck or Violet and Alex.

But of course Randy balls did not disappoint and from the moment he slammed down his spoon with a “The fuck you say to her?”  I was sold. And so I now have another one of Helena’s men to add to my book boyfriend list.

If you haven’t started this series yet you have to one click them right now. I mean where else can you find so much entertainment?

Damn. Helena's books really need to come with a warning. Something along the lines of don't read this in public unless you want to be considered crazy and don't read this with a full bladder unless you want to make a puddle.

Luckily I only needed the first warning, but then again most people around me are used to my random bursts of laughter or tears.

It feels like forever since I read Pucked but as I started reading this it all came flooding back to me. And the first thing I felt was fear. In Pucked we were pretty solidly introduced to Buck and it was obvious he was a nice guy and an awesome brother but since he was a huge fan of the puck bunnies he was going to be a shitty boyfriend.

And watching him start to change his ways when he met Sunny in Pucked I was expecting things to pick up with them together. But when this started with him smashed at a club I thought my heart was going to be crushed before the book even started.

Of course I should have had more faith. And as the book progressed so did my yeti love.

Buck was so beautiful, I think I have to add him to the book boyfriend list. I think Sunny sums it up best when she says he is a lightning rod for slutty women. He seriously could not catch a break.

Sunny is hard for me to pin down my feelings on. For the most part I completely got where she was coming from and if I am being honest I probably wouldn't have been any different but since this is told entirely in Buck's pov it was easy to be annoyed by her at times.

But then she is so sweet and open and honest and caring I would go straight back to loving her and wanting her to get it together and sort out her shit.

I loved how much we saw of Violet and I seriously think I could be best friends with that crazy bitch if she could morph from the pages but until then I will have to just enjoy her as the series goes on.

This book was so laugh out loud funny and the injuries and accidents had me wincing and laughing I honestly couldn't put it down.

I am expecting the next book to be Lily and Randy and I can't wait.

I suppose I should start this review with a confession. I skimmed over the blurb for this book and thought it was another step brother romance with sport thrown in and since I had been on a bit of a roll with both of these themes I started this one. So if you were smart enough to read more than the first line of the blurb you already know that is not what I got.

With that said I am far from disappointed, it definitely wasn't what I was expecting and to be honest even now I have finished the book and read the blurb I think I still wouldn't have gotten what I was expecting.

To say the leading lady was a little left of centre is a bit of an understatement, she is completely pucking nuts and for the most part I loved it, however there were a few instances I wanted to slap her, hard, like really hard. But then I would end up giggling over her next stupid exploit and I would forget she annoyed me.

Being an Aussie we really don't get ice hockey at all but Helena gave me enough to make me want a hockey player of my own but not so much I got lost in the lingo.

And Alex was pretty much all around perfect. Enough said.

So if you're in the mood for a slightly strange story that will deliver a yummy sports star, a super hero monster cock, a lot of beavers and massive amounts of humour this is absolutely the book.
