When I read the blurb for this book I was really excited to read it. I love friends to lovers and single parent romance. But when it came time to read this book I just wasn't feeling it. I am new to this author and I wasn't aware it was a serious, emotional contemporary romance. And I really need to be in the right mood for that. With everything going on at the minute all I wanted was to read something light and fluffy.

 

But I started this and I hate not finishing so I forced myself to keep reading and really it didn't do the book any justice. The story was great. And the subject matter was one that I loved seeing in print. So many people think you have a baby and suddenly you know how to parent and life is all sunshine and roses. But even without PPD being a first time parent is hard and often overwhelming.

 

So I really wish I had read this book when I was in the right mood to enjoy it more because I know I would be raving about it. The characters were great and I loved that we saw them warts and all. I definitely plan to read the rest of this series as the secondary characters were as awesome as the main.

 

But for now I'm off to read something light and fluffy.
