Cletus has long since been one of my favourite Winston
brothers so I was dying to get my hands on this book forever. So once it landed
on my kindle I was all set and ready to go. This author and especially this
series is of the rare breed that you know going in that you will not be
disappointed, that you will laugh out loud and have sweet gentle moments mixed
in and walk away feeling all light and fluffy and happy.
However this book had a bit more emotion than I was
expecting. Which was such an amazing bonus I was thrilled with it. I had this
idea of what I was getting before I started but I got so much more. I got the
emotion but I also got the laugh out louds, I got the tears but I also got the
stunned speechless. I honestly don’t know how Penny Reid does it but she crafts
it so perfectly that it feels like I am living it right along with them.
Cletus was a little darker than I thought he was going
to be. I knew he was a lot deeper than most people and his brain worked in it’s
own unique way but I didn’t expect him to be such an evil genius under his good
ole boy persona.
And the Banana Bread Queen was almost miraculous to
watch come into her own and grow as a person. She is yet another character I
had this semi formed opinion of that turned out to be way off. Jennifer was so
sweet and caring and watching her fall in love with Cletus and the way that he
loved her gave me the warm fuzzies in the best ways.
This series just keeps going from strength to strength
and I can’t wait for the next installment of this awesome town and amazing
family.
