This is one of those KU books that I picked up after seeing a teaser in a different authors newsletter. I thought it would be a short, hot read before bed and instead got sucked into a reasonable length story that was absolutely hot AF.

I don't really read a lot of bodyguard or celebrity romance except for those super short smutty ones 😉 So I went in sort of expecting that. And I'm absolutely not complaining because this book was a fun read. The characters were likeable and there was enough drama to make this hard to put down.

The book was seriously hot. There was almost too much sex, almost. And there was just a touch of praise kink along with a massive amount of dirty talk. An overprotective hero and a smart, strong heroine. But mainly I got a great introduction to a new author for my future stalking.

I've been driving myself a little insane trying to find books to read. I am really craving an over the top alpha and whenever I go searching it seems either I've read them all or they are ones I don't want to read for one reason or another. So in short I'm annoying AF in my own head and can't decide on a book for hours.

I can't even tell you how I came across this one but I thought it sounded like it would appease me. And it really did work for me. I was worried how it would go since it was set in high school but with the wolf shifter and the bully aspects it did come across as an older feeling read.

Cole was a complete alphahole but omg he was so alpha and he absolutely nailed the dirty talk. And once he started to be less bully and more boyfriend he nailed that even better. Because he owned the whole growling, protective, possessive boyfriend.

Bailey had been through so much but she was still fighting. I loved that she was strong enough to stand up to Cole and the rest of the school. And the way she looked out for Rayne. I'm really looking forward to reading this series and getting books on each of the other alphaholes and Rayne and hopefully Cole's sister.

I really wasn't expecting to get so emotional reading Jason's book. I seriously remember him as the goof of the group. Sure he was sensitive and very comfortable in his own skin and wasn't afraid to show Knox his love. But he was always messing around and having a laugh and I really expected just to giggle my way through his story. And I am going to take inspiration from Jason and say I cried like a teenage girl reading that.

Dottie was such a strong independent woman. She knew what she wanted professionally and she worked damn hard to make it happen so it was hard to picture her not getting stabby at Jason's laid back, easy going, jokester self.

But they complemented each other so beautifully. And obviously having the same friend group helped. Jason with his bubble butt and abs to die for had me more than understanding her crush on him. And the whole dirty talking, alpha side that came out just added even more to his appeal. Because seriously he was the best all round book boyfriend of the whole crew.

And even though I did cry like a baby I still had loads of laughs. And the story kept me well entertained. I really just loved the whole thing. And I am seriously praying that Natalie and Walker are going to get a book because those 2 characters so deserve a HEA. Please Meghan.

So other than a few novellas I haven't read any books by Ella Fox, but when I got an email saying she was the newest author of Boom Publishing I was all in. I am slightly obsessed with Aurora Rose Reynolds writing and if she's putting her stamp of alpha approval on this it's a no brainer.

And I'm really happy I jumped in. It was very similar to everything I love about Aurora Rose Reynolds books. It had the overly protective "babe" growling alpha. It had the law enforcement hero. The danger and drama that makes the story interesting. And a heroine who isn't a doormat.

Ashley and Tyler were great together from the first meeting. And I really loved the secondary characters and the small town setting. The story kept my interest and the chemistry was great. Tyler had the dirty talking down to an art form. And he delivered everything he promised.

I can't wait to see where this series is going after such a solid introduction.

This is one of those where the hell have I been moments. I love, love, love, love Tessa Bailey's writing and when I first saw this book months ago I was obsessed. I requested an arc and was devastated when they rejected me because it meant I had to wait forever to read it. And then as it dropped further down my TBR I got distracted and forgot about it.

Then yesterday I was looking for the perfect read to help block out the real life dramas and this popped up. And BAM Tessa Bailey bubble activated. Despite a serious lack of sleep recently I couldn't have put this down if the house was on fire.

Georgie and Travis were perfect. Both together and separately. Of course Travis was possessive, jealous, growling, dirty talking and I loved him from the first. But having his point of view made me love him more even harder. And when he came to her defense I couldn't have been happier.

The only thing that I didn't love was the ending. I would have killed for an epilogue but I am hoping we will catch up with them down the road as we get more couples. And honestly I was so in this book the whole time I was reading it that I don't think I could ever get enough. And now I am off to stalk a release date for the next book because I am thinking they are going to be even hotter and Dom is going to be even more alpha. Can't wait.

Yeah I totally read this because it was shelved as best dirty talk by a few of my GoodReads friends. Add the fact it was co-written by Tessa Bailey and you just know it’s going to be hot. And even though I don’t share Autumn’s kinks it was definitely hot but it was also a lot more that I wasn’t really expecting.

I haven’t read any books by Eve Dangerfield before so I didn’t really know what to expect from her contribution into this. What I got was a heap of laughs and a very rare authentic Aussie “sheila”. Autumn was so Aussie in her inner thoughts and speaking it was awesome. It was so good to see a genuinely Australian character and I had so many laugh out loud moments with her I enjoyed everything about her.

Blake was pretty damn great himself. He was the perfect guy for Autumn and I was hooked from the start. I mean seriously who here can resist a guy who loves books? And turns himself inside out to be perfect for Autumn. Sure he made some mistakes but he was so sincere in everything he did for her it was super sweet.

I totally loved Blake and Autumn as a couple and the way they interacted was so real and felt so natural and I loved every part of this story.

Every now and then I read a Tessa Bailey book and it just fucking does it for me. And honestly I can't even tell you why. I think it's the hero being all obsessive and possessive. Or maybe it's the heroine being all quirky and unique. Or the secondary characters being so well developed but not taking away from the story. Or maybe it's just everything all mixed together just right.

Whatever it is this book just worked. I loved Rory so much and Olive was so perfect for him. But in the interest of full disclosure there were a few things in this story that normally would piss me off but due to the circumstances they were completely understandable and made the story better.

So yeah I love Tessa Bailey. She writes the hottest dirty talkers and I can't get enough of them. Oh and just randomly the cover is perfect for the book and it doesn't hurt it's a pretty hot cover.

MY REVIEW
http://www.readersretreats.com/2016/09/stripped-down-stripped-2-by-emma-hart.html

EXCERPT

“Beck?” I managed to get his name out just before he opened the front door.
“Yeah?” He spun back to face me, his dark eyes unreadable.
I turned my face to the side so I could see him fully. “You don't have to go,” I said softly. “You can stay. Only if you want to though.”
He rubbed his hand down his face, his eyes never leaving mine, then walked back into the kitchen toward me. I stood up away from the fridge as he stopped right next to me.
Slowly, he touched his hand to my face, his fingertips teasing my hairline. His dark gaze searched mine, and my heart jumped into my throat as the usual tingles his touch sparked danced down my neck. Then, he slid his hand into my hair, allowing the blonde strands to fall away from his fingertips.
“Do I want to go home to my big-ass house with its cold emptiness?” he asked in a low voice. “Or go to the club where half the girls there still see me as a mountain to be conquered? Not particularly, Blondie. I'd rather stay here. Even if there will be a demand for movies and water and foot rubs from a tiny, sick person.”
“You can.” My voice was quiet, like his. Even if my internal screams from self-preservation and vulnerability were deafeningly loud as they told me I was a fool, that he had to go, that this would never be enough for him.
“Do you want me to?” His question was... honest.
Raw.
Hesitant.
Like he didn't want me to answer.
“Do I want you to stay here in my tiny house so my daughter can fall more in love with you than she already is? Not really. But...” Don't be a fool, Cassie. Don't admit you want him to stay. He's just going to hurt you. “I don't exactly want you to go either.”
“For her, or for you?”
“I don't want to answer that question.”
“If I kissed you right now, would you ram your knee into my cock?”
“I'd briefly consider it, but I probably wouldn't do it.”
His lips twitched to the side. “You just answered the question.”
Then, of course, he cupped the back of my head, and he kissed me. It was slow, sweet, gentle. And I didn't consider kneeing him in the balls for a single second.
Beck pulled back and trailed his hand down my arm before he finally let me go. “I'm going home to get changed and then come back. Do you need anything while I'm gone? For CiCi? You?”
“I don't...” I sighed and chewed back my pride. “I meant to go to the store today after work to get some stuff like bread, milk... important stuff. But now I can't.”
“I can get it. Just tell me what you need.”
I bit the inside of my lip, then nodded. “Okay. Let me write it down.” I walked through into the front room with him hot on my heels and grabbed the notebook and pen from under the coffee table. A few things were already scrawled down, so I added a couple more things, including more medicine. I tore the sheet off the notebook, stood, then gave it to Beck. “Let me get my wallet.”
He grabbed my wrist, stopping me. “I'm not taking your money.”
I lifted my gaze to his. “You can't pay for my groceries.”
“I can and I will.”
“You can't and you won't.”
“I can and I will.”
“You can't and you won't.”
“I can do this all day, baby. I'm stubborn as fuck.” His eyes told me he wasn't lying. “And we all know I'm a brat about the word no. So, I can, I will, and I'm going to. If I can't help you by buying a measly eight items, I'm an asshole who shouldn't be allowed around other people.”
“You can't buy my groceries,” I repeated. It was a lame argument. I was going to lose, but I'd fight until I went down.
Beck's eyes twinkled as he leaned in. “Don't worry. If you really want to pay me back, I'll take a blow job. I imagine your lips around my cock will be a pretty good thank you.”
My jaw dropped as he backed off with a wink.
“Mouth open already, Cassie? Enthusiasm. I like that.”
I snapped my jaw shut and glared at him. “You're a dirty pig.”
“I know. But I've got fifty bucks that says you'll be sucking my dick by bedtime. If you don't agree...” He shrugged one shoulder, his lips curved in that dangerous smirk.
“If you're lucky, I'll bite it.”
“I'll take that as I'm in for a good time.”
One more wink, complete with expanding grin, and he was gone.
Motherfucking asshole.

So it’s no secret I absolutely loved Stripped Bare so as soon as I found out Beck was getting his own book I was jumping up and down begging to have my dirty little hands all over it. But I was pretty sure there was no way Emma Hart could pull off another story as good as Stripped Bare about strippers.

Then I heard Beck’s story was going to feature a single mum and my hopes got even higher, but then I was scared I would expect too much and be disappointed. But then I started reading it and I just lifted my head and realised I have finished it and a whole heap of time has passed and damn did Emma Hart nail it.

If you read Stripped Bare first you have a feel for who Beck is and other than the fact he is sweet to Mia he kind of seemed like a bit of a pig. If you haven’t read Stripped Bare first, don’t panic you really don’t need to as it has no bearing on this story you just missed out on an awesome read and a tiny bit of info on Beck that isn’t really relevant to this story.

First I should say Beck wasn’t at all what I was expecting him to be. I think it might be my own personal bias that I was expecting him to be the one reluctant about his sudden marriage especially when he found out about the six year old complication he had also now signed up for. But nope he was all in and he was so sweet and caring that I felt like screaming at Cass.

Not that Cass did anything I can’t understand. I mean seriously who wouldn’t freak out waking up next to the man-whore owner of the strip club your ashamed you have to work in and finding out you married him. I not only got her fears and reticence I fully supported them, but oh my god did Beck go above and beyond in the sexy and sweet departments.

Of course you can’t be surprised that the star of the show was Cass’s beautiful daughter and of course seeing Mia and West was a great bonus.

SYNOPSIS:

Factory mechanic Duke Crawford just wants to watch SportsCenter in peace. Unfortunately, living with four divorcee sisters doesn’t provide much silence, nor does it change his stance on relationships. But when a fellow commitment-phobe stumbles into his life, getting him good and worked up, he can’t deny his protective instincts.
Samantha Waverly’s brother just put her in an impossible situation. The only way out? Marry huge, gruff, gladiator look-alike Duke—for show, of course. She doesn’t make promises—she knows too well how easily they can be broken—and this is no exception.
As the blistering attraction between them grows, the lines around the no-strings relationship blur. But Duke and Samantha’s marriage is only for show…or is it?

EXCERPT:

Duke stepped closer, flattening Samantha against the wall, leaning down to talk at her temple. “Maybe you’re the hottest thing I’ve ever seen.” He dropped an arm, sliding it beneath her ass and boosting her up. The tight proximity of their bodies caused the upper half of her dress to slide down, revealing two perfect mounds topped with raspberry-colored peaks. Duke’s cock jerked with a surge of lust, fighting the fly of his jeans to gain freedom. There was something…corrupt about having an angry girl topless in his hallway while a party was in full swing outside. A girl whose eyes continued to spit fire at him, even though her inner thighs rubbed restlessly against his hips. “When men think of putting their mouths on a woman’s tits, they don’t picture themselves sucking gently. Or blowing on them.” He rubbed the seam of his lips across one delicious looking tip. “Not me, anyway. Not since I’ve seen this pair you’re walking around with.”

I know I can always count on Tessa Bailey to write hot as hell books but damn this one was beyond smoking hot. Like I need a smoke after reading it.

This was the ultimate insta-love story but I felt the sparks flying from the moment they make eye contact and I don’t think I stopped squirming in my seat the whole time I was reading this. It was just that hot. Which isn’t to say I didn’t feel a whole heap of other emotions as well just that my libido was forced into overdrive from all the testosterone pouring off Duke.

Duke was so alpha and commanding I wanted to throw my panties at him and run all at the same time. He was probably the best H I have read in a long while and I call dibs. He was sweet and caring and possessive and growling in just the right amount. I fell so hard for him.

Samantha was awesome. I loved her passion for her dream I just would have liked her to have a little more self confidence, not that she needed it once Duke fell at her feet. But I would have loved for her to kick her brother in the dick.

The secondary characters in this were great and I am looking forward to seeing them all again as the series progresses (hint, hint Tessa). But now I am off to read the second one as I somehow managed to miss it.

Duke is mine!!!!!

Holy shit that has to be one of the hottest books I have read in a while. I literally couldn’t put it down once I picked it up.

West was the perfect wet dream of a man. Seriously. Damn!!! Sexy stripper. Successful businessman. Dirty Talking extraordinaire. With the right mix of take charge bossy alpha and sweet and sensitive caring guy. I think I came just thinking about him.

“You didn’t mention your name,” I gasped when he kissed his way down my neck. My hands moved to undo the buttons of his shirt, my back arching. “West,” he replied, the word a murmur against my skin. “Now you know what to scream when I fuck you.” Yes. Yes, I did.

Mia was awesome too. She was quirky and hilarious and I loved her inner dialogue almost as much as I loved the random crazy that fell out of her mouth. Add in the relationships she had with her friends and I had quite a few laugh out loud moments that just made me love her so much.

Which isn’t to say she didn’t have her faults. I seriously wanted to slap her commitment phobic ass quite a few times but then West would come along and say something growly or dirty or sexy or sweet and make me all wet and swoony and I would forget my earlier ire.

I feel like I spent the duration of this book in a fog of lust. Infact I am pretty sure my ovaries have exploded and random hormones have taken over my brain because I can’t get the sappy stupid smile off my face from reading this and its 2am and I have to get up in 5 hours but I HAD to jump out of bed and grab my laptop to rant over the awesomeness that was Stripped Bare and Emma Hart.

“What can I do for you?” Everything you shouldn’t. Mind, meet gutter. You’ll get along well.

But I do have to admit there were a few editing errors that did make me want to drag out my red pen but then did I mention West and the swooning? And what was I saying? Oh that’s right. What the Hell Emma? How could you throw that tiny taste of Beck in there at the end when I have to wait nearly 2 whole months? Because jeez do I love Beck. I actually kinda hoped a little bit that we might have seen a little Mia sammich but then West getting growly was probably better.

Yup I am lying, but I wouldn’t have loved the book as much as I did if West could have shared her,but that doesn’t mean I can’t lie back in bed and picture West and Beck all oiled up side by side in their tighty whiteys. And on that note I am off to see if Emma needs any ARC readers for Stripped Down because that has my name all over it. Single mum and Beck, Fuck yeah. Bring it on.

What can I say? I am a sucker for a sexy cowboy. And Katee Robert always gives me hot and steamy sex scenes and characters I love that make a quick story into the perfect break from reality and this book was right on the money for both.

Jules is sick of the pity she is receiving from her small town neighbours when her high school boyfriend returns to town thinking things will pick up where he left them when he left her heartbroken to go off to college. So when he corners her at a bonfire she pretends to be dating Adam.

Adam has no desire to be stuck in his home town, he is only there to check in on his sick mum before he heads back on out to the next rodeo but he is more than happy to help Jules get the town and her ex off her back and have a little fun in the deal.

The relationship between Jules and Adam was so sweet and sexy I inhaled this book. I spent the afternoon with a big smile on my face and I just couldn’t wait to see where they were going to go next and how they were going to overcome the hurdles between them and their happily ever after.

The secondary characters were awesome and the interplay between them and the main characters was so entertaining I could have stayed in Devil’s Falls for days hanging out at the cat café and chatting with the locals. Luckily I only have to wait a few weeks until the next book is released and it’s Quinn and Aubry. Wooo Hooo.

Hmmm I am not really sure what to say or where to start with this one. I guess I should start at the beginning and for me that is Prick. I fucking loved it. And I had to read the rest of the series and to be honest it's been a little bit of a love hate relationship.

But as far as this book goes I think Sabrina summed it up when she said it was the most over the top of the series. And I absolutely agree with her but it's fiction and I enjoyed the over the top ness of the whole thing.

I loved the main characters and I loved the lack of drama and angst. And I was drawn in and invested from the very beginning. Albie was perfectly annoying and aggravating and entitled and just perfect. And Belle was frustrating and irritating and sweet and I really liked her.

Aside from Prince Albert’s Prince Albert I also loved that he was pretty damn good at the dirty talk and there was plenty of smoking hot sex to keep my panties wet.

But what I hated and what dropped my rating was the editing. And I am not referring to grammatical errors or spelling issues, I am talking about getting characters names WRONG repeatedly. Was the bodyguards name fucking Simon or Martin? Don't call the PR lady who is previously unintroduced by the main characters names. It pisses me off when I have to re-read a page repeatedly to realise it's a fuck up and it pulls me from the book for pages. And the bodyguards name had me flipping pages and ranting to my uninterested husband.

Ok rant over. Here's the thing, despite that I really enjoyed this book. But if you're going to have the same issue I did or if you can't stand an over the top storyline then maybe give this one a miss. That said I seriously did struggle to put this down today so if you think you can ignore those things this is well worth the read.

Check out my reviews for Prick and Cannon

This was a steamy little novella with a very heaped dose of sweet. I have to admit I didn't really connect to screwed but I think that was more me than the book because this novella was perfect.

Despite having read screwed and knowing a little of the background of these characters I really had no idea how they were going to get together or how their story was going to go and I really don't think you need to read it if you're just chasing a short and steamy friends to lovers fix.

I do have to say that I felt the ending was a little rushed. I know it was a novella but I wanted a little more hea and the epilogue while awesome just didn't feel like enough. But with that said it did perfectly round off the story and add to the warm fuzzies I got from this novella.
